It's 2 AM do you know where your mayor is?
Apparently Overland's mayor was at the police headquarters having the locks changed. In order to enforce her suspension of Herron and her installation of Branch, prisoner had the locks changed in the middle of the night last night. Purzner was unable to remove and appoint a chief at the city council meeting as her supporters walked out and forced an end to the meeting before she could appoint a new chief. In direct violation of Missouri law she then removed chief Herron and installed Branch. Purzner and her supporters have made statements about installing a new chief in order to increase the morale of the force. Is this how she plans on increasing moral? By installing a chief in the middle of the night? By bringing in a chief who has been investigated by the FBI for excessive force? By bringing in a chief who fires patrolmen for no cause? By bringing in a chief who is on the Fraternal Order Of Police's foes list?
Because if this is increasing morale I would hate to see how she destroy morale...

What does it cost in overtime pay or in locksmith fees to do this in the middle of the night?
I think the true cost will not be realized for some time to come. I don't have any idea what the utlimate cost to the City after the lose the 10 or so law suits that will be generated from Queen Ann's unlawful dismissals.
