My first question is what has she been held back from doing by not being able to appoint Chet Pleban and Ben Branch? What does the appointment of either of these wastes of oxygen have to do with moving forward with a legislative agenda?
Or is it that Ben Branch would have kept the queens opponents in line with his unique brand of jack booted thuggery that Branch was investigated by the FBI for?
Would Pleban have given better legal advice to the city then he has been giving the queen? I don't have a lot of confidence in his legal opinions since the queen, following his and Steve Redman, I mean Doug Rudman's advice has now lost 6 lawsuits.
And where are all these great ideas? In this day and age of instant information and electronic connectivity, IF the mayor had all of these great ideas then why hasn't she put them out in the public forum? It's not like she's still campaigning and needs to keep them hidden so that her competition can't steal them and claim them as their own. (Even though I don't see MB Conlon announcing she is going to turn over executive power of Overland to Skidmark Brown and Charles "Karam it up your A$$". That's a uniquely purzerian thought.)
All I have seen from Purzner is petty vindictiveness, a willingness to trample all over the laws of the state and city, pandering and a complete lack of original thoughts.
On the other website we challenged the ORT supporters to put forth the ORTs ideas and to let us know where the ORT wants to take the city. They have yet to answer. Is it because they don't have an answer or is it they don't want the citizenry to know where they want to take the city?

Call Allied Waste yourself, provided you are an Overland Resident. The mayor clearly stated in HER website that the cost of trash service is going up OVER 10% this Jan. NOT my words hers. To verify this I called Allied, was given what I would be paying come Jan. and it is nowhere near 10%. DUE THE MATH YOURSELF, WITH YOUR FINGNERS OR A CALCULATOR IF YOU MUST. The mayor is not telling the truth plain and simple.

Basically she has rec'd a letter, she isn't going out looking for this, she doesn't want to sell, but may have to. Channel 4 tried getting ahold of the realtor & company I think they said from Jeff. City, have gotten no response from either. They were offering I think $850 thousand.
They also interviewed Schneider, he said something to the effect that the mayor is telling them nothing about any of this. They also interviewed another ladey I think it was Pat Westoff.

You at least got your numbers closer this time regarding rising cost in trash, but it's in all how you word it isn't it and 20.7+% doesn't sound so good which is what you want. Well let's deal in numbers instead. I'm going to use my own bills.
5yr contract with Allied starting in 2004.
2004 - city paid
2005 - residents pd $14.88 mthly
2006 - " " 16.38 "
2007 - " " 17.50 "
2008 - " " 18.38 (5%)
So that means over a 4 yr period my bill mthly bill HAS only risen $3.50 or qrtrly $10.50. Still retaining 1 trash pick-up a week, recycle, yardwaste, FREE appliance pick-up & as many bulk items (couch, chair & box springs,etc.)
Which considering what we get that's not TOO bad.
Since the mayor has only asked for $600 thousand & refuses to say what services that includes, I'm assuming it's ONLY trash, the residents will pick-up the tab for everything else.
Which brings me to Berkeley because Knode likes to compare us with them. Berkerley residents pay.
$4.16 yardwaste (if they want)
$9.75 per month trash
$15.75 per bulk item
$21.00 per applicance
They are not even offered recycle
St. Ann residents pay $5 per mth for recycle.
And you forgot to tell the residents of Overland that St. Louis County is working on a bill that by 2010 which is just 3 1/2 yrs away that recycling will be mandatory.
So let's start figuring here,
1 yr of recycle $60
1 yr of yardwast $49.92
1 yr of trash $117
1 chair $15.75
1 couch $15.75
1 mattress $15.75

A couple of meetings ago some woman asked her a question, she responded by saying her home is around $138,000 & if the lady would look at how the taxes are divied up she'd know what she was talking about.
Well, I went to St. Louis Cty dept of Revenue, the mayors house is assesed and taxed on $103,000 NOT $138,000.
Which brings us to the seminary & why would she even think of entertaining an offer of $850,000 when please correct me if I'm wrong, I heard when it was last appraised a few years ago it was going for 4 million.

Not only does she want to sell the seminary now she wants to keep it from making any money.

The mayor has scheduled a workshop meeting for 10/16 to work on the general budget - the first work on it since July.
Is the mayor starting to act like a deer with 2 headlights coming at her, and hoping that they are on two motorcycles that will pass her by on each side? The six months in office are about up. Will she be surprised when the lights turn out to be an eighteen wheeler with recall petitions?

As it stands now, I have decided that any posts by visitors that do nothing but repeat the same content as a previous post will simply be deleted.
I do not want to eliminate the anonymous log-in because I cannot eliminate that and still keep the ability for people to post under a name without a Blogger ID (at this time).
If this becomes too tiresome I will eliminate comments on my blog all together and instead setup a forum site where discussion topics will be started to go along with each post. This way I can have an open door for everyone, while still being able to close that door on those who are rude, childish, etc.
