The ORT's Circular Logic is Making me Dizzy!

Wow! What a meeting, as shown on cable last evening! Sometimes, I like to watch the televised version as the sound is a bit improved over what you hear in the audience. Unfortunately, once one can hear what they are saying it can easily make one ill.

The obviously predetermined plan of the ORT to limit residents' comments was what made me ill. Ill, by way of dizziness! Let's see. We can't make a motion to extend residents' comments because the meeting has yet to be called to order. Yet, Jeff is "out of order" for requesting that residents' comments be extended. And, if the meeting hasn't started, why not just delay the start to hear the residents in their entirety? This is not to mention that they argued for over an hour to extend the comments—time that could be spent on the comments themselves. And, thus, we never had an actual meeting—how does the ORT think that method will progress business concerns in Overland?

Ann is digging herself such a big hole that Overland is starting to look like the surface of the moon. She cherry picks who she will allow to speak during her decreed 15 minute limit. When they allowed a few folks to speak after her self-imposed 15 minute limit, she allowed some to speak freely even addressing their comments while cutting off others. The city is so ripe for another lawsuit over this, yet she stubbornly digs in her heels.

Jeff O'Connell wins the Council Member of the Month award for pointing out how ROR allows for a chair that disregards motions from the floor. Richard Knode is the Council Loser of the Month when he walked out on residents comments—showing how little concern the ORT actually has for the residents of the cities. They may talk a lot about such concern in their handbill/flyers dropped off in the middle of the night. But, actions speak so much louder than words, Mr. Knode. And your actions screamed that you are more willing to railroad the citizens and bring about another lawsuit to the city than to do what is actually right for the citizens. Good public service goes beyond providing free trash!

I watched last nights meeting also. What a chaotic mess. Thank goodness for Jeff O’Connell, for trying his hardest to stand up for the Citizens of Overland. The ORT are a bunch of useless pieces of “free trash”! How about Knode lying thru his teeth and saying that resident’s comments were never extended before, what a jack ass. Knode kept asking Jeff the dates of those meetings that the comments were extended, good grief. And then the screech owl Owenswig, saying he is going to get the FBI involved…..LOL…. please do Mr. Wiglet. The ORT is really mentally incompetent to be running this city. Purzner RN constantly bashes the public, City Attorney and the 4 Councilmen who oppose her, and yet she can’t take criticism for her stupid actions. Purzner and her 3 ass kissers can dish it out but they sure can’t take it.

Another point I want to make, when Purzner RN bold face lied to the resident who asked for the sign to be bigger at City Hall in regard to times and dates of council meetings. Purzner said she would like a marquee put up with that information, but the budget was not passed so she couldn’t. What a liar she is. Jeff O’Connell pointed out to Purzner that the marquee was already approved in the Capital Improvement budget. These ORT people are pathological liars.

The budget?! Has the budget committee even met to discuss a new budget proposal since the last one was defeated?!
Give them something to vote on (that they haven't ALREADY voted down) and then you have reason to gripe. Otherwise, The Queen needds to quit harping about the budget when her Two-and-a-Half-Men haven't provided a new proposal.

The Capital Improvements Budget was passed on July 10, 2006. The General Funds Budget has not been approved yet.

True on the CI budget. However, she does still harp on the General Budget. And, there hasn't been a new budget presented since the 7/10 meeting (I believe). It seems that the ORT controls the budget committee (3 of the 4 members) and she should be blaming them for not meeting and producing a budget that can be passed.

Suzy,
How true, she blames everything on the General Budget not being passed. Remember when Purzner blamed the rat problem on the General Budget not being passed....LOL. That was priceless!

Suzy, I can't agree more. The ORT consistantly shows little to no regard for the wishes of the residents.

They illustrate this very well on the Mayors Website. There they host a link to the last vote on the budget. They think this somehow works in their favor. On the audio you hear the vote called, you hear the vote called, 4-3 the Mayor say motion fails and a roaring cheer from the crowd.

They didn't even cut out the cheer. It is obvious that they just don't get it when it comes to the concerns of the residents.

Sailor, it might take until April for them to "get it". :)
And then the voters will gladly show them via their votes.
