Owenby's Zero Credibility

In honor of Truth or Consequences, here is a new post:

Did you read the Suburban Journal article on the recall effort? Basically it said that the city is open to another lawsuit because of the ORTians dragging their feet on the will of the people. And, I would support COGG 1000% if they chose to get this on the ballot via the courts.

But the killer of the article is Owensby’s accusations on COGG’s efforts. He accuses them of collecting signatures earlier than allowed and thus filled in dates after the fact (of the signatures). I didn’t know Owensby was a handwriting analyst. I didn’t realize you can tell how someone would create a number based on how they sign their own name.

In addition, I find Owensby’s claims of fraud a bit ironic. Didn’t he admit on the stand this year that he sent out a memo to city employees under the mayor’s name without authorization? That is forgery and fraud!

It is a shame that he chooses to project his bad qualities onto people who appear to just be concerned with their municipal government and choose to act upon what they feel are wrongs.

Owensby’s credibility is zilch. The COGG has done nothing to diminish their reputation or credibility.

I love how he blames the majority of the council for his lack of refund on utility tax.
If I have a choice between fully funding and staffing our police and public works department or giving this schmuck a $17.50 utility tax refund, I will always vote for the former.

Hey Stupid aka Hands,

Better call and let Allied know they are going to increase what we are paying for come June, because as of this morning they don't have a clue that the contract is changing in midstream.

And what did you just wake out of a coma, didn't you hear or read the mayors' website, she let us know this increase was coming. Except according to her first post it should have been 20%. Thank god she lied about that and it was only 5%.

Ever hear that everyone is expendable? If it is true perhaps a new lawsuit will be forthcoming? Oh well the Old Boys Club continues to rule the city its just the otherside of the old boys club now. Dody was a joke, Munsch was a crook and Purzner is a liar. Overland voters need to wise up. Its all our fault we keep electing the worst candidates imaginable.

Greetings:

I've been a fly on the wall for decades. Flies rely heavily on sight for survival. The compound eyes of flies are composed of thousands of individual lenses and are very sensitive to movement. Some flies have very accurate 3D vision. I'm not a wallflower but I do have the ability to be a fly on stink. There's some stinky things going on in Ward 4 and its pretty WILD. Let's just say the left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing and the right hand is doomed.

fly on the wall, the ominsicient, fish-eye lens visions and insights must be amazing.
You teach that Ward 4 has two hands; and that one is doomed and the other is ignorant.

Stinky and Wild? Maybe Ghost of Norm Meyers can interpret these hints. MaybeSuzyjax? Guy Fawkes? Ghostbuster? edgar casey?

Ward 4 has WILD Acres but the stinky part remains a mystery.
Maybe the MSD is in a STINK concerning sewers at WILD Acres Park or the old seminary.

Other Wild Acres / Seminary matters include continued insurance coverage, the asbestos issues and alleged moldiness.

Any further advise, insights or ideas from fly on the wall would be greatly appreciated.

I've heard that in Ward 1, the left leg doesn't know what the right leg is doing. And that the consequences may be that the right leg may soon have a limp.

I've heard in Ward 3 that the left side of the brain doesn't know what the right side of the brain is doing. Then again, that is assuming that the Ward 3 representative has brains.

Fly-guy or girl,

I understand the need to not reveal too many details that it might reveal your secret identity. However, the post has so little information it makes little sense.
Give us another clue--it's Christmas after all.

fly onna wall, if you have only a penny's ['..you've blown a penny'.] worth of suspicion, chances are your 'sources' are criminally stingy!

If you paid - in ANY way - for such "notions", you've been ripped off royally!!

Credibility test: If you can't get your 'penny' refunded, those suspicions weren't guaranteed, were they!!

Yuck! We don't need anybody wasting what precious time we have on this planet.

Likewise, is there any justification for entertaining future posts from "fly onna wall"? Sure I sound evil, crude and erudite this morning, but I'm just not a big fan of insects that belong outside, who add nothing to the ambience.
Where's my fly-swatter?

We individuals, and only ourselves, are responsible for the images we publish. If one produces an unpopular posting, one need not expect to be worshipped by dishing out more of the same.

Your posts imply you have insights, but you puzzle the public. We ought not degrade our city by mere allegations of rumors and vague, unsubstantiated hints of misinformation.

If you want to say "you've blown a whistle," that would be clear and more likely understood. Whistles have a purpose, while pennies are growing more worthless and meaningless every day.

That I am unimpressed with such posts as "speaking Cantonese or Mandarin with developers" doesn't make me venemous.
I'm told Mark Brown has a toxic nature.
Many of us in Overland are short on patience for this community, but MB is apparently in a category entirely of his own.

Overland has too many questions, and too few answers; too many problems and too few solutions.

We need more solutions, not more problems.

No one is threatening you Fly. Most of us try to keep flies away because they have been known to spend much of their time six-legs deep in excrement. Then they bring the excrement to your table. The next thing you know the Plauge breaks-out.

We here at the OVCC try to avoid the annonymous cryptic message because we are not certain as to what it is that you are sharing.

"What is it Lassie? Is there a fire?"

"WOOF WOOF WOOF"

"What are you saying girl? Is Timmy trapped in the well?"

If you have some specific information pertaining to Overland politics please feel free to share. If you cannot freely share what you know or require cryptic language, the best course of action would be to keep it to yourself. That way we won't spend anytime trying to figure-out what the hell you are trying to say and you won't need to fear whatever it is that is preventing the use of plain English.

You call yourself a Whistleblower. If you see yourself as such, stand-up and blow the whistle. Writing annomymous cryptic messages does not make you a whistle blower, but rather a roumor monger.

STOP THE PRESSES, we have it on Fly's cryptic authority that Mayor Con is meeting separately with vendors and developers at the Manderin House. Say it ain't so.

Nut-up or nut-out.

Naz,

Another day at the office. You thought wrong if you thought we were classy at the OVCC. If you wasted 5 seconds of your valuable time reading a spam message then I sincerely apologize. I speak for myself but can say unoquically that I have allocated none of my time to thinking about blog spam. If you would like to take the time to find out how to prevent blog spam, by all means get to it. Send instructions to me on how best to attack the problem and I will implement. I suspect you may waste significantly more of your precious time in finding the answer as opposed to simply going on to next post.

We will entertain all posts we find to be entertaining.

Gravy CD, great Lassie analogy. Were I possessed of the means by which the spam could be excluded, I'd share it with this site, to repay for all the grins I've enjoyed herein.

How I'd ever get to repost again, might be another matter.

With hundreds of clever posts, probably thousands, one spam isn't cause for alarm. Frankly, I fear, I didn't give a damb enough to even click on the link of the spam-looking post boasting $2000.

Being classy involves denying we have it. Mother Theresa probably had class. Stating that we have class would disprove itself.

The term Partners, when used by non-lawyers, is a frightening matter that is best avoided. Certainly when a muni is involved.
I strongly agree with the reasonable apprehension expressed by mr. whitefolks regarding the term partnership.

The FOWA will certainly encounter more surprises and dead-ends than we could ever imagine in their efforts to attract decent investors, developers, grants and pro bono professional guidance. Naivete isn't a problem, nor is ignorance. The learning curve will replace preliminary notions with goals of a far more realistic and sustainable nature.

I fret that the FOWA's most formidable hurdle may be Overland itself: our council, our discord and talented leadership stretched thinner than threadbare silk.

As to an FOWA Board of sorts, and the Overland Council. Our Council is too fluid, and in any given year may have half of itself replaced. 2500 Ashby needs something more stable.

In time, I can see a board growing to contain talented civic leaders. A fire department captain, a county development official, specialists from law firms, architectural leaders such as from HOK, environmental experts from MBG or Alberici, et cetera.
