true plans for wild acres?

Mayor and MO Gaming commission reveal plans for Overland Wild Acres casino.

In a stunning move today the Missouri gaming commission and Overland Mayor Ann Purzner announced that Missouri’s gaming laws had been changed to redefine Missouri and Mississippi river channels to include all tributaries that run to the states rivers down to the level of creeks. Mayor Purzner of Overland wasted no time in applying for a gaming license on the section of coldwater creek that runs through Overland Wild Acres Park. “I feel this is in the best interest of the citizens.” The mayor was quoted as saying. “The tax revenue from the new casino in Wild Acres Park will more then make up for other lost revenues for the city of Overland. I am tired of driving out to Maryland Heights and seeing my constituency spending their money out there. Why shouldn’t we keep that tax money in Overland? I told the citizens of Overland I would get them free trash. Look at all the positives for rebuilding city infrastructure the Casino Queen has done for the city of East St Louis. Overland can take giant steps forward to be almost like a west East St Louis. In these cold months ahead citizens of Overland are going to have to choose between heating their homes and paying for their trash. If they just come to the casino then they don’t create trash at home, they stay nice and warm and there’s a nice $5.00 all you can eat buffet from 3-6 every evening. We have contracted with Wal-Mart to provide an onboard pharmacy and are contracting with Pay Day check cashing to provide mailboxes and check cashing service for Social security checks. We are solving Overland’s problems one at a time.”
In a surprising move the mayor called an emergency meeting of the Overland City council to be held at Mandarin House to vote for Blighting and TIF for the casino project. The vote was Knode, Sellers and Owensby for with the rest of the council absent. When asked about the apparent violation of the requirement of a quorum the mayor responded, “I’m the mayor this needed to be done quickly, I called the meeting and we voted.”
Tu Wong properties who will be assisting in the development of the property along with Playa’s casino announced plans for Councilman Owensby to tow the recently purchased Admiral riverboat to Overland where the Admiral will be anchored in Coldwater creek.

This post has no place on the OVCC and really belongs on the Picayune.

I loved the admiral as a youngster. Where else can a 2nd grader learn the hokey-pokey and the bunny hop while dancing away to Bob Kuban?

Edgar, FREE TRICKS are already in the budget. But I believe for the last 30 years Overland residents have been paying for these tricks in the utility tax.
Tom, Dick and Hairy have been trying to turn tricks, for free, but there are no takers.

Having the mayors legal fines paid for, out of Overland tax revenues, would really stink.

I'd like to see the judge order the mayor's pay garned to the extent of her fines. She gets a grand each month, and she has about five more months till she is out of office.

Will there be enough attachable income to cover the mayor's misdeeds? Gee whiz.

Ellen, does the 7th Day literature shine any light on ranch dressing?

I like the prostitution ring angle. Maybe we could stick them in the new boutique hotel.

Can we quit talking about pulling tricks, I just got a mental picture of those who would be the biggest participants. Unfortunately from what I've heard that would be nothing to get excited about. To many been there done that.

With Wanda giving flu shots she'd give you a twofer if she found out you signed the recall.

And watch out for Donna to steal your blood and sell it but wouldn't know where the profits went nor pay taxes, cash only.

And Ann saying, that's OK give me your arm TRUST ME I'M A NURSE.

This is like beating a dead horse, one more time I'm going to say this. Purzner put resident comments AFTER the meeting was adjourned. She did this for the sole purpose of walking out on the residents, as evidenced at the last meeting on October 13th.
Purzner and her 3 yes men walked out during resident comments when the meeting was adjourned on October 13th. So there goes the idiotic theory of Overlandchat people trying to say Purzner put the comments at the end of the meeting (after adjournment) so she could hear everybody and give everybody more time to speak. What a BIG crock of chit!!!
The only Officials that stayed to listen to the residents, PER THE AGENDA, where Mr. May, Mr. O’Connell, Mr. Schneider, Chief Herron, and Lind Downs.
