Will the Circle be Unbroken?
All is quiet on the Western Front. The Western Front that is comprised of all of the mayor's supporters who don't quite live within the city limits. These carpet baggers, who encourage The Queen's shenanigans, have been quiet today.
One can assume that they were all tied up this afternoon in the city's Sunshine Law hearings. And who wouldn't want to spend an afternoon listening to Doug Rudman (The Queen's procurator, err lawyer) cross examine witnesses with pointless questions such as "at what time did you sign this piece of paper" and "how many chucks would a woodchuck chuck, if that woodchuck could chuck wood"?
But, imagine their fright upon leaving the hearing and finding out that their good friend Joe King is in the clink! Who has time to post when you are trying to organize a "Get Outta Jail Joe" party at the Mandarin House? (All proceeds to go toward bail bond for Mr. King)
And if only our resident ghosts, Lucky and Norm, could float over such a shindig at the Queen's dining hall (aka Mandarin House). What would they see? Will they see the links that tie the corruption in Berkeley, St Charles and our beloved Overland? And how does an insurance agent become the common criminal element among the trio?
Will folks like Mark Brown, Ann Purzner, and Donna Dill abandon their good friend Joe King to separate themselves from controversy? I think not. I see them supporting their buddy and making their usual excuses. I mean, everyone has the right to "bad advice," right?
I think if we could be a fly on the wall at that party, we would see quite an interesting weave of local politicos, public servants, provocateurs and pedophiles. So interwoven, that the circle cannot be easily unbroken.

Mr. W, you are giving the current administration much too much credit for being logical (or ethical).
The post has an article on yesterday's hearing.
I saw SP's comment about how Ann won. Won what exactly? The liar of the year award? Why do these people constantly lie. The ruling is still pending. And meetings will continue to be held at the Community Center. I think this is the least of Ann's worries. Everything will soon come full orbit.

Then you have the spell checker BLUE EYES with this comment:
"What did she win? What is phase 1 mean?

Number one: You should have said, "What DOES phase 1 mean?"
Nevermind the fact that BE would even think there is an answer to SP's stupid statement.
BLUE EYE BALL, may I suggest that if you are going to correct people, make sure you take the LOG out of your BLUE EYE BALL, before you point out the speck in other people's eyes.

I for one, misunderstood your comments about 'fags' - knowing what little I do of your life - not recalling the british usage of the term fags as cigarettes.
I'm confident in my conclusion that you don't confuse cigarette smoking with dating choices.
NOW, let's focus on other distractions. Let's categorize the distractions into three strata.
In ascending order of magnitude:
Trivia, Priorities, and Clear and Present Dangers To Society.
We must consider the mechanics of our daily lives, - Families, our Jobs, Education, Shelter and Friends - to be Priorities. By 'mechanics' I mean things that move us forward in stability.
Education is important, especially 'spinal training' - America needs stronger backbone, less osteoporosis in our national vertebrae [citizenry].
Also important in education is communication skills. The better a person thinks, they better they speak and write. The better a citizenry communicates, the better chances they have for sustainable self-governance vs other groups.
Let's then consider triage - what we can fix, and what can't be fixed, in simplest terms. We cannot fix our Mayor, but we CAN help ourselves by replacing her.
We cannot, by remote control, improve the entire language skills of other posters, or pray that they mutate into perfectly articulate and charming citizens.

However it is aimed at the wrong audience. The point of my prior comments and NGIT's was that we should NOT be obsessed with typos and gramatical or spelling errors. We could devote gigabytes to everyone's (on both sites) errors and it will not forward debate or progress the movement. In fact, it will stall debate (probably their point).
Instead we should continue posting about the crux of the matter, muckracking and the occasional stupidity/silliness.
The ones who orignally mentioned such trivial matters are ones who cannot rebuke substantive posts, let alone have any ideas with merit.

That means the mayor doesn't want to give in on the community center vs council chambers thing. She is still holding out hope that she will win the court case regarding meeting locations. After all, she "won phase 1" in the minds of friends and law firm Dee, Luge, and All).
In the meantime, The Queen will be as vague as possible.
BTW, that is intentionally vague. It would appear to be a coding error (e.g. the box isn't big enough to hold all the text). However, when you view the source code it just says "...being held at Overland".
As if anyone thought the meeting would be held in St. Ann.
So now we know where Rudman works, at Dee-Luge-And All? No wonder An selected Doug Crudeman whose name she could not even remember when she wanted Overland to hire him!
Ward 1 had several postings regarding a ward meeting, which thread came to my attention today.
Before a new poster OVresident contributed a comment yesterday the thread had gone unspun for a month or so. I think it's a great idea. They could meet at Skeeters!
How are facts proven?
mr. whitefolks, I had to ask who the insurance peddlerophile was, perhaps because I ignore much of what is related to St. Charles and Mark Brown.
Overland is replete with hateful suspicions that somehow take on lives of their own.
Yet wise guys know that gossip, rumors and opinions don't hold water in court.
It wouldn't surprise me if Overland City Hall were found to be riddled with a deeply-rooted network of covered-up crimes, but knowing about them and proving them are two different matters.
What proof exists of a nexus between Ann Purzner and the x-rated insurance peddler?
I don't see false accusations. I know that the media has covered the outsiders plenty. All that concerns us how is the link between Ann Purzner and the insurance-selling pedo-porn guy established objectively?
