Actions Speak Louder Than Words

Well, we are up to 40 comments on the last post. Thus, I thought time for a new one.

While posting a comment on Sailor's blog, I got to thinking about how The Queen says one thing, but then does something diametrically opposed to her statements.

Some examples I thought of:

1. The Queen says: "I don't plan to sell Wild Acres"
The Queen's action: Escorting real estate agents around the property, accepting bids for the property, etc.

2. The Queen says: "Time to put our differences aside and work for the benefit of the city"
The Queen's action: Despite her statements on wanting the council to cooperate, time and again she does things that are intentionally divisive.

Can you name some examples?

How about the infamous line of Purzners:
"I am like an angel"

Far from it!!!!! I'm sure we can all figure out the opposite of that statement. :-)

I remember her statement on tv news "Hey, I'm a woman. I'm always right".
This was why she could replace the police chief without the city council.

Oh, sorry don't know if this one applies but this is one of my favorites. In regard to the Crotch Watch, let me see if I can get this right.

Who wrote the article "I don't know", you don't know "well I did", you did "well I know but I'm not telling, call them" no phone number.

Suzyjax, you were one of the last who was able to post a comment directly on The Overland Examiner site.

Due to the various issues we have faced over at The Overland Examiner I have decided to turn off comments on all new posts, as well as several recent ones and institute comment moderation for older post.

However, we have not eliminated the ability to comment completely. In order to enable comments and discussions, while also being able to prevent SPAM, foul language, etc, I have added a section to the Overland Speaks Out Forums .

Anyone can read the comments by visiting the site. However, only registered users will be allowed to post them. This way, we can allow people to comment and discuss, but we can also prevent the abuse that has been going on recently.

I hope everyone understands, and thanks for your patience.

Thanks for remembering Mr. Whitefolks. Let me just add that my body of work included serving over 40 years in the Missouri General Assembly with only one break while I took care of that indictment thing........ never convicted.

Now, along with Ghost of Norm, permanently term limited.

Hi everyone. My name is EJ Lucky Goat. I am brand new to this area. I just moved in and cannot believe the way you treat the Mayor who is just trying to do the business of the City. I am really really new to this City and hope that....... whoops, dammit, I forgot to log out........ dammit.

My favorite Purzner line? That's tough. Maybe "You have no right to call me Anne".

The re-rebroadcast of the meeting was pathetic. As a public service to the Fab Four, here is your roadmap. Go ahead and allow the meeting to be called to order. During the new business section, make a motion that as a council procedural matter, you want there to be public comment at every meeting, a limit of X minutes per speaker and no limit on the number of the speakers. You pass a resolution to that effect 4-3. Guess what, you have just established the rule. If she violates it in future meetings, you can then use the O'Connell technique. That is, make a motion that she follow the procedural rule duly adopted by the body. If she continues to ignore it, call for a point of order. If she ignors the point of order, poll the vote yourself citing to the rules. In the end, Judge XXX will enforce it.

The end.

By the way, welcome to our site EJ Lucky Goat. You sound like you really know what's up. I can't believe you just moved in.

I have to give applause to UNINCORPORATEDMAN, in regard to a propaganda letter he received from Sellers, he said “I have been defiled, the same as someone defecated in my mailbox.”

That sums it up appropriately. My sentiments exactly when I received a propaganda letter from Owensby!

Oh, Ms Whining Blue Goat, you just crack me up. But, I think you have made a mistatement when you brag that Whitefolks is your homeboy.
We all know that Mr. Whitefolks lives at the Overland Hilton. Thus, if you live across the street that makes you either a dumpster diver at the Chinese place or you sleep in your car at the QuikTrip. I sure hope it is the latter. You could provide true public service and keep us updated on the ever-changing gas prices down there.

P.S. That Whiningbluegoat post might just be worthy of Post of the Week if we would remember to award that honor!
Going from whining to winning--what a country!

Residents of Ward 1 be on the lookout from one Ken Owensby in the green bat mobile, he was just on my block delivery the mail. He did however skip quite a few homes.

twolayer,
Did you get a copy of the propaganda letter? I would venture to guess, it is about the CCOG collecting signatures for the recall this weekend.

New Girl,

No don't know why but for some reason he skipped my home & quite a few others. Did notice he was hitting more of the rental.

Did talk to a woman the other night that lives up by O'Malleys, she just did get hers & it was the same letter that they've been putting out.

New Girl,

Sorry forgot, have been told by 3 or 4 people now that the mayor has been knocking on doors also.

Have you heard anything about it. I have not seen her in ward 1.

Gee Whiz, it's not Trick or Treat yet, why is Purzner knocking on doors?

Twolayer,
No, I haven't heard anything yet. The last propaganda letter I got was over 2 weeks ago. I sure hope they don't darken my door!!!
