Postcards (and news interviews) from the Edge
The mayor and her cronies are having quite a week—and its only Thursday. The postcard warning us against signing petitions started the week out great. I think the mayor has her numbers wrong. She says only 10 people are against her. I think it might be more likely that 10 people are for her—and even those folks won’t sign there name to their mailings!
Of course, these mailings are nothing compared to what we will receive once the petition signatures are verified and the recall is placed on the ballot. I agree with the poster who stated that we should make sure they have 2 (or can I dream 3) times what they need to initiate the recall election.
Further proof that the ORT is dangling close to the edge was the KTVI interview. Purzner continued her delusional statements of only 10 people are against her. Another misstatement—that 2000 people voted for her. The fact is that only 1115 people voted for her. However, 2000 people did vote against her (and for the other two candidates) in that same election.
Need more proof? Purzner claimed that since Bob Dody worked full-time, he couldn’t manage what was happening at city hall, thus the city attorney was running things. However, Bob Herman also works full time, so when did he have the time to run the city.
Oh yes, Purzner’s proof that he is running the city was that he made some corrections to the council meeting agenda.
Liar Liar: She boasted about her balanced budget (the law mandates that the budget is balanced, so no great feat there) and claims “The residents lost every service that we had, from the dog catcher to the free trash pick up. And I said we would return all those services and I have.”
When exactly were these services returned?
Purzner claims to have a balanced budget, yet has failed to pass a budget. What budget?
Like campaign promises, anyone can make proposals. Yet, the devil is in the details. What is sacrificed to fulfill such proposals? It is in those details what the rational resident of Overland is not willing to sacrifice. It explains why Knode’s budgets have never passed.
The one good thing: She boasted about 8 grants that we have received including one to restore parks. Hey, let’s use it to rehab the buildings at Wild Acres!

20 Comments:
Not only does she need to use it to restore Wild Arces, she needs it to restore the rest rooms at Mort Jacobs, they are disgusting.
I can not believe channel 2 did not question her on the amount of votes 2000, out and out lie. What, do they not watch the news or read the paper.
And don't they remember the article from the post with Donna Dills mug front and center that 10 of HER supoorters (7 were not from Overland) and the other 3 would not give names.
And what happen to her saying she would step down if there was a recall to I'll fight to the last dog till the end. Again another lie.
I find her stating she would step down if she was recalled very funny. Does she have a choice? If she is voted out, she HAS to leave.
Tomorrow is Vets Day and City Hall is closed. They should have posted the agenda for Monday's meeting today. Has anyone seen it? Any surprises?
One would think the Newscasters would have questioned Purzner about the 2000 votes. However, I think they just let her ramble on, just to show what a liar and nut job she is. Purzner can’t even put a full coherent sentence together. Purzner just stammers and mumbles most of the time. Even if I didn’t know Purzner and saw this interview, I would have thought she was crazed.
Purzner and that Alderman from St. Louis, buying all the decorative gates for the blighted neighborhoods in the city, should hook up, they both are nuts.
Hey Hands,
You have to actually turn on channel 4 first, they did cover the murder.
Here is:
Mayor Purzner on Fox 2
I would not call this an "interview" in that there were no real followup questions.
And I too am surprised that they did not call her on the "2000 people" elected her thing.
I am also surprised that a women who repeatedly said she made some mistakes now says she would do nothing differently.
Purzner has wrapped herself in so many lies, she can't keep them straight. This is why she constantly flip flops on almost everything that spews out of her mouth. Purzner is nothing but a parasite on Overland. Knode, Owensby and Sellers are parasitic creatures too, for going along with Purzner’s lies and deceit.
Yes but of course Wino Blue Goat wants grant money for a poo. Doesn't everybody want staph and dysentery? Or is that just a Goat thang?
Goat just promised her other 2 or three personalities, not to post under her original Music Note moniker. I guess her male ulter ego personalities took over and made herself stop posting under MN. Yeeeeeeeeeeeeeehaw....now pass that Ripple Wine, Blue Goat.
I'm goin', I'm goin' where the water tastes like wine.
Well, I'm goin' where the water tastes like wine.
You can jump in the water and stay drunk all the time
The posted notice of the Nov 13 th council meeting is up at city hall but not on the website as required by court order. The residents comments are added after the meeting is adjourned, so won't be part of the public record or shown on the Public Access channel, but at least we can comment on whatever lies and schemes they present at the meeting
On this morning’s (11/11) CBS Early Show, they were talking about the insanity plea for a murder in Texas. The speaker defined “insanity” as doing the same thing over and over, and expecting a different result. Does that sound familiar? Like nominating the same person for ward 3 councilman?
I dropped by city hall this mornign and took a gander at the agenda.
One thing was an ordinance for the city election. I guess this is normal since filing for the April election begins in December.
I wonder if it is a big deal to add the recall matter after this ordinance passes?
There is also an entry for the "veto" message. I wonder what The Queen plans to do now. Perhaps she will once again attempt to veto something that didn't pass (thereby in her mind, making it a new ordinance/ regulation).
Oh gosh, just popped in over at OverlandRat and read their commentary about my comments on another board.
I laughed at the post on Overland Chat about my desire for badge and flashing red light. I guess one could misinterpret my tongue-in-check comment, but I was hoping that little winky smiley face would have alleviated such a misunderstanding.
Perhaps stalking charges are in order since they know I what color of car I drive. Or wait, it's that they have put my life in danger by posting this information and opening me up for stalkers and murderers.
In addition, my neighbors are upset and so are other drivers of the same color of car. You have done them wrong OverlandRat by allowing such super secret, get-your-decoder-ring, information to be posted on the internet where ANYONE could see it.
[PLEASE NOTE (for the humor impaired at OverlandRat): I am joking and by no means think anyone is stalking me or would/could do me harm by their nonsense. Just throwing back a little of their own ridiculousness.]
Mr. Whitefolks, thought the exact same thing when reading the comment. "Come on. You know you want to say it. It's right there on the tip of your tongue. Use the money for _________? Oh, come on you can say 'pool'. We know you want to."
Just more disingenous bullshit from WinoBlueGoat.
Good God Edgar! Not quite the visual I want on the sunny Sunday.
I would rather wear a curtain than that junkie polyester crap Dannyinfector sports, from the Dollar store.
What do you say Scarlet O'Hara? :-)
No mention of hooves.
Another non-meeting. Instead of listening to citizen comments for 15 to 30 minutes, they argued for an hour and went home. The four were willing to have them before the chiefs report, but SHE refused to have them anywhere except AFTER!!! adjournment.
If the QUEEN can not have the meeting HER!!!! way, she would rather not have a meeting.
Incase you haven't heard, on channel 2 this morning I think after 7, Conlon is to be on and then the president of COGG.
