Guess the mayor's estimate of 10 people against her was a little off the mark, 3157 people to be exact...

Hey, don't forget to give some props to the folks of Charlie Town for tossing Downstown Brown and his cast of characters to the curb.
The entire metro area has expressed their disapproval of the Overland Watch/Overland Recovery Team.

"You and i both know each other fairly well, but you don't know me as BLUE EYES."
Right, exactly right. We know you as Carol Sparks, MUSICNOTE, MN, FINEWINE, BLUEEYES I, BLUEEYES II, CIO and BEAR63114.
There is a tried and true way in which to test someone's veracity and truthfulness. When a person makes an argument through explaining everything they are not, explaining everything the don't believe, forecasting that the recipient won't believe the argument they are always tipping their hand. They know the truth and try to read the mind of their target by trying to emasculate the inconsistencies they know to exist.
For example, if you were Carol Sparks, posting under MUSICNOTE and started posting under multiple handles in order to deceive, you would always passionately deny it by saying, "I am not blank".
Or, claiming that you have lived in Overland for years and are intimately familiar with Overland politics but not know who Carol Sparks is. Carol Sparks knows who Carol Sparks is. "Carol Whatever" is another example of someone telling you exactly who they are by telling you all the things they are not.
Congratulations to one and all.
Mr. Oaks you should have won, ward 3 is without representation still.
You worked hard & did a great job.
Twolayer,
I agree with you 100%. Michael Oakes ran an honest and sincere campaign. Michael is still a winner in my book.
I think Ward 3 really lost out not having Michael on the Council.
I wonder what the net change in IQ scores on the board will be. Will the loss of Tom "Super Genius" Sellers and gain of 160 Keller have a net positive or negative effect?
I would like to see a chess match between the two with the winner to face-off against Deep Blue.
Hey Lucky well what can I say. All Politics is indeed local. As the former Mayor of Overland I still have a pretty good feel for the pulse of the community. Lucky everyone knows that you and I love to crunch the numbers. Being a Ghost and former Mayor has its priveleges such as being able to determine where the votes are and how the numbers will turn out. A few days ago I suggested in my post to Ann that she could resign and save herself the embarrasment of a defeat. I wonder if Ann read my post of March 31st and my prediction of the final numbers which were
Yes Recall Prop A 3124
No 1086
I guess I wasn't to far off hey?
Actuals
YES . . . . . . . . . . . . 3,167 73.02
NO. . . . . . . . . . . . . 1,170 26.98
Lucky in my final message today, to the Overland City Government Truth Stranger Than Fiction Blog. Those who do not remember the past are doomed to repeat it.
I met Dick Kmode for the first time yesterday. I shook his hand while he solicited my vote. He looked like the Maytag Repairman. I told him thanks and if he ever needed some more gravy to give me a call. He was eye-to-eye with Gravy.
He looked a bit confused and clueless. I left. He lost.

Sweaty,
Why do you seem to be in such a pissy mood?
Think of all the time you'll have on your hands now that Annie's fannie got booted out.
No more worry about us poor little ole people that live in Overland & you don't. I bet Mark needs a shoulder to cry on & yours are certainly big enough for that.
Sweaty
I hate to burst your bubble but just because your candidate lost doens't mean I am worried about you suing me for LIBEL (here's a hint literature starts with an L and literature is published... Spoken starts with an S as does slander...Amazing how that works out.)
But here's where it gets fun Donna.
By thrusting yourself into teh middle of the controversy you made yourself a public person. What's a public person you ask?
PUBLIC FIGURE - A term usually used in the context of libel and defamation actions where the standards of proof are higher if the party claiming defamation is a public figure and therefore has to prove defamatory statements were made with actual malice. Harte-Hanks Communications v. Connaughton (1989) 491 U.S. 657, 666-668.
The "public figure" issue is not cut and dried. To begin with, a fairly high threshold of public activity is necessary to elevate a person to public figure status, Brown v. Kelly Broadcasting Co. (1989) 48 Cal.3d 711, 745, and, as to those who are not pervasively involved in public affairs, they must have "thrust themselves to the forefront of particular public controversies in order to influence the resolution of the issues involved" to be considered a "limited purpose" public figure. Gertz v. Robert Welch, Inc. (1974) 418 U.S. 323, 345.
So for you to sue us you have to prove the higher criteria of public person libel. You jumped into it and made yourself a public person so don't cry now.
I heard that the Director of Public Works resigned today.
Was he Dir of Public Works or ACTING director?
Either way, probably resign before you get fired. Say what you want about the man, I guess he is good at reading the writing on the wall!
