Hypocrisy!
Much of the ORT propaganda being circulated this weekend contains verbiage about how the citizens of Overland were denied their "constitutional rights" to vote for city-paid trash. The budget is part of the day-to-day operations of the city and should be voted upon by our representatives. But, don't let me steal the ORT Contrarian's thunder.
The hypocrisy is that multiple times Knode, Owensby, and Sellers voted against putting the recall on the ballot. They disregarded state law and the obvious will of the people (not pretend will of the people) in putting this on the ballot after more than the required number of signatures were gathered.
The city council correctly voted down an ambiguous city-paid trash on the ballot ordinance. Doesn't the law state that all ballot measures must spell out their costs? Yet, no costs were provided. It would be fiscally irresponsible to put such an item on the ballot and it was worded. Now, who is looking out for your tax dollars?

More BS on Purzner the lying RN's website. The Post Dispatch never used the word RN, they used the word NURSE. There are different types of Nurses, LPN, RN etc. Purzner claimed she was a NURSE, period, end of story. Purzner claimed to be a NURSE in her campaign literature and was told to stop and desist by The State Board of Nursing. And she claimed to have a degree from Maryville University....BOTH ARE LIES. Now Purzner the Liar is claiming the Post Dispatch has something against her and her 3 followers....LOL...the woman is outrageous to say the least. I hope Norm Parish gets a load of, Purzner the lying NURSE’S, website garbage...now that is FREE TRASH folks. Instead she chose to make it a public spectacle and then her Blue Eyes persona took it too far. Of course, Donna Dill jumped on that too. I guess once someone throws the first punch they figure it is okay for everyone. I guess it might fit the definition of the mob mentality.

Which is why I continue to point this out. It is tedious for sure. I wish Carol Sparks would admit to her on-line fraud and stop lying. That doesn't seem to be in the cards. If her continuous lies on behalf of her patrons, Ann Purzner's ORT party, are not addressed someone may begin to believe the lies.
The only way I know to combat such congenital dishonesty is to respond to every lie with the truth and hope that reasonable people will see the difference.
I do hope that Carol Sparks doesn't call some of those "bad boy" or "mean" dudes she used to run with and have them come after me. Probably not, I never thought Carol Sparks the type of person that would be into the "rough trade" if you know what I mean.

By definition, it is impossible for a MAJORITY of elected leaders to conduct an overthrow of a government.
By definition, a "coup" must be lead by a few individuals, a minority party if you will. Given that 4 out of 7 does not constitute a minority, watching Dick "the Quitter" Kmode run from the meeting with tail between his because his group is the minority on the board is not a coup.
Second, a coup must be conducted through extra-constitutional means. The record clearly shows Mayor Con not recognizing a motion and a second by her duly elected colleagues and then walking out.
If anyone is attempting a coup, it would in fact be the ORT. They are the minority party and conduct all of their agenda through extra-constitutional means.

I see, a Nurse Supervisor. And what exactly does the Nurse Supervisor do? I wonder if Carol Sparks could ask her political comrade-in-arms to name any one nurse in which Ann "the Liar" Purzner held a supervisory position over.

Now her comrade in dishonesty calls herself a Nursing Supervisor but will not be able to name any one registered RN that worked under Ann Purzner.
I remember Ann Purzner back when she was a file clerk at the Overland Medical Center. She was always riding up-and-down the steps on that chair for the handicapped. It was on rails. She would be going up and down with a handful of patient files ready for filing.
I remember when one of the nurses would give her an order to go get a file. It really seems odd now that I know Ann Purzner was their supervisor. I wish I could order my supervisor around the office.
Just one. Just one registered RN to say that Ann Purzner was her supervisor while working at Overland Medical Center.

I just checked with the Central Nursing Office at a hospital. They said there was NO WAY someone would be a supervisor of nurses without also being an RN.
They stated that usually such positions required minimum of a MSN plus many, many years of experience in a nursing position.

We know Carol Sparks hates Chief Herron because he is a certified expert in Civil Defense and she is not. Therefore, she no longer gets to feed at the Civil Defense trough.

I really enjoyed watching the Mike O'Connell piece from last May in regard to the state investigation and Purzner's admission to lying about her professional credentials.
I forgot about her making a photo copy of a Maryville diploma and passing it off as if she earned it. I also wasn't aware that she lied about her education in Business Administration.
One thing you always see from someone so insecure and self-loathing as Ann Purzner is an escalation of lying.
It wasn't enough to lie about being a registered nurse. She probably didn't feel smart enough to participate with business people so she wipped-up a background in Business Administration.
She spent an entire career with this lie. Every time someone at a social gathering would ask what she did for a living she probably started with the truth saying she worked at Overland Medical Center. Someone would naturally ask if she was a nurse. Void of self-esteem she stopped correcting people and just agreed that she was a nurse.
That game works with people at a wedding reception or a Dirt Cheap closeout sale, but not when running for public office.
Hopefully Ann will spend sometime in retirement getting to know herself, getting comfortable with herself and possible liking herself enough to see lying about her background is completely unnecessary.
Only people not proud of who they are feel compelled to lie about their background.
The sweetest Elderly couple came to my door this past weekend from COGG, we had a nice little chat. I can't believe OWENSBY would call them "gruesome gossiping old biddies" and a hate group. They were kind, concerned people with the truth about the reasons for the recall. They were just so darn sweet and were working hard to get Overland back on track. This was a wonderful thing to see.
It was a pleasure talking with them.
In the Localite, Owensby, again calls them a hate group and so does Purzner. How sad to call the Seniors who have worked hard all of their lives a hate group. I must mention, I have seen plenty of young people in COGG too, but Owensby being the coward he is just hurls insults at our Senior Citizens. What a pathetic creature Owenswig is.

In the Localite, there is a big ad claimed to be paid for by the Overland Recovery Team. Of course in the picture are Purzner, Knode and Owensby. It is chalked full of lies and deceit. Does anybody know if the "Overland Recovery Team" is registered with the Missouri Ethics Committee?

Which brings me to that age old question of which came first:

Blueeyes As someone who grew up in a town in New Jersey that lost nearly 40 people when the towers fell I am appalled that you would stoop so low as to try to use that event for political gain.
The reason the Councilmen refused to attend that meeting is because they did not want to continue violating the Sunshine Law and Mayor Purzner refused to recognize the several 4-3 votes to move the meetings to the community center in an effort to follow the law and avoid legal damages.
The judge ultimately ruled that the Mayor was wrong in not following both the Sunshine Law and the Overland Ordinance that mirrored it. That ruling cost the city the expense of multiple attorneys, as well as the 16,000.00+ in the plaintiffs legal fees that the judge ordered the city to pay.
Those Council members who refused to attend that meeting were standing up for open and accountable government, which happens to be a cornerstone of the American system. They were trying to prevent a lawsuit and they should be commended.
It is beyond low to try to use the bodies of the dead to obfuscate the truth of the situation. Thankfully, I am confident the public is too smart for that.

Blueeyes you are correct. I confused an earlier meeting (July 17th) for the 9/11 meeting. I was responding out of sheer disgust brought on by your attempt to use the 9/11 tragedy for political gain. My mistake. Grow up? With all do respect, what an adult does is admit when they make a mistake and try to learn from it. The reason for this mistake frankly was that I got angry at your attempt to use the dead of 9/11 for political gain and as a result I failed to read your entire post or research the meeting in question. My mistake, and I have learned from it.
I went on memory, and frankly, Councilman Knode, Councilman Sellers, Councilman Owensby and Mayor Purzner have acted inappropriately at so many meetings it is difficult to keep their straight without referring to my notes or past articles.
However, I am still amazed that you would suggest that the actions of 4 Council members you do not like were disrespectful to those who lost their lives in 9/11. Those Council members were arguing for the residents and their desire to be heard during residents comments (this was before the Mayor decided to allow comments to continue beyond 15 minutes after the meeting).
What truly amazes me is that you feel the 4 Council members arguing for more time to allow all interested residents to speak were disrespecting those lost in 9/11 and yet you don't seem to feel the same way about Councilman Knode, Councilman Sellers, Councilman Owensby and Mayor Purzner who actually walked out of that meeting, which was THE reason the meeting was prevented from happening, and the agenda, including giving any respect to those lost on 9/11 was unable to happen.
Giving respect that day to those lost on 9/11 did not happen because those Council members and the Mayor walked out of the meeting. If they had been willing to simply sit though a few more residents comments the meeting would have continued without issue.
BTW, according the legal precedent in Missouri, they had little choice. Several municipalities (Moberly, MO. being the most recent if I am not mistaken) have lost lawsuits brought by residents who were denied their right to be heard by their City Government. Once you open the floor to comments, constitutionally, you have to leave it open until all interested people get the opportunity to speak (Though I don't believe the Mayor's choice to allow some comments at the beginning and the rest at the end of a meeting is in conflict with this principle).
That said, I do not think that was their intent, nor do I suggest that it should have any bearing on how people choose to vote tomorrow. What they did was wrong in my opinion, but I do not believe they intended to ignore the 9/11 victims.
Oh, and btw, the meeting I was confusing with September 11th, 2006 was the Special Council Meeting if July 17th, 2006. You can read my article about that meeting here. I do "dare" to suggest that you're attempting to use the 9/11 tragedy for political gain because there doesn't seem to be be any other logical explanation why you would suggest that those arguing for residents to have the right to speak had more bearing on that not happening than those who actually walked out and prevented the meeting from taking place.
