MT Schneider: I support business, just not local business

According to MT Schneider's latest campaign finance filing, he bought his yard signs from Jennings Printing. However, an investigations of their website reflects that Jennings Printing doesn't do that kind of printing.

A further investigation of the union bug on the signs is, however, very telling. The signs have a bug that states "Signs & Allied Trades No. 1 Local 802". This is for a Gill Signs in Kansas!.

I'm not saying you have to get your signs from Marky Mark, but why wouldn't you buy your signs from one of the many shops in our metro area? (You know, those people who are more likely to spend their paychecks in Overland, not Overland Park)

Can you really run on a "bring business to town" platform when you take your own campaign business out of state?

And why the ruse through Jennings Printing? Did Jull call in a favor to get these at a reduced price for Schneider?

And is such a reduced price worth the political damage of not being able to "think local, shop local"?

Kansas is a Right To Work State
Should have just outsourced it to China

On second thought instead of China he should have just gone to Mark Brown's Quick Printing at least they would have to pay sales taxes to Overland.

It must be related to the "in-kind" nature of our Planning/Zoning Board Chairman's contribution.

Watch Schneider file an amended disclosure where his total sign cost is discounted to $350.00.

There's a new article in the Overland - St. Ann Suburban Journal by Buck Collier about St. Ann. Councilperson Owensby loves to point to St. Ann when complaining about Overland. I wonder if he will be wanting to follow in their footsteps here too?

Here is something not to support. Cogg. How many members are in this group? Are there any minority members? Is anyone here a member? I don't appreciate mailings begging for money. I think this is a hate group. I think this group has given our city a bad name and reputation. What do they stand for? begging for money is not good government.

While I have real issues with the direction COGG appears to be headed asking for donations is NOT a sin.

Charities, Political Candidates, Interest Groups, Community Organizations, even local websites seek the support of the public. We all receive these requests and we pick and choose which groups (if any) we feel deserves are support.

As for what COGG stands for, I can't answer that for you.

At one time I thought I knew the answer but then I see known COGG members spinning the issues of this election bent on obfuscating the truth. I see COGG equating a candidate surrounded by the back-room politicians of Overland's past as being the same as another who is backed by none of them. And now we have well known members of that COGG working tirelessly to secure yet another political patronage hiring at City Hall of one of their own. With all of this going on I find it difficult to believe that "Good Government" is still their focus (and I have to wonder if it really ever was).

Add to that the way they have handled their own financial reporting and "Transparency" is in Question as well.

However, there are still people within COGG who believe in what COGG was supposed to stand for. In the future either they will be given the opportunity to correct the direction most in that organizations leadership have lead them or they will, like so many others already have, leave in disgust.

It should have been a real clue to everyone when the return address for money was in West Sherwood the richest of the rich of Overland.
No wonder Schneider has all sorts of money the COGG people are bankrolling him pretty good. Course you'll never know because of the unique accounting techniques employed by the COGG.

Follow the money. The money trail leads to Midland Valley, Lake Sherwood, Munsch, Ortman, Dody's and of course those undisclosed contributors.

For the August 7th Election in Overland there have been some polling place changes. To start the Wild Acres Polling place has been eliminated.

The Board of Elections has a list of the polling places for this election. Click here to see the list (Overland is listed on page 2). Also you can check to see which polling place you should be voting at in this election by looking at your voter registration card that you should have received by now or by visiting this page at the County Board of Elections and entering your street address.

Everyone should reconsider any plans they had on Sunday as getting across town is likely to be very difficult because of this event.

I guess will know who the clown is sitting in the yellow bird. Of course, that's assuming it will be leading the parade.

I think I saw Robert Preston marching down my street.

"I know what this campaign is sorely missing." MTS

"What's that Mordred, oops I mean, What's that Mike", Pontiff Phil Paul.

"More Mike Schneider. That's it. More Mike Schneider", MTS

In Overland city
That starts with "T"
And that rhymes with "D"
And that spells DUMB

Dumb idea for a parade, that is.
