Experience vs Education

I am a strong believer that sometimes actual experience can be a substitute for education. For example, if one has worked on computers, learned about programming, and proven able perhaps they should be hired for a computer programmer job regardless of their lack of a BS in Computer Science.

On the other hand, I really don' t want a doctor, lawyer, or teacher who has not had the appropriate professional studies practicing medicine, law, or education.

In Overland, we have a situation where we might look at education vs experience.

Keller has three months on the council. No education in the arena of government.

Schneider has 15 months on the council, twelve of which he did nothing and the council achieved little. Also, no education in the arena of government.

Now, you have MBC. She has the best of both worlds. More experience than both Keller and Schneider combined. A college degree in public policy. And, probably more importantly, a plan for Overland and the means/method to enact such a plan.

Why would anyone not support MBC as a candidate for mayor?
I can only think that there is something in it for them or they are voting for their buddy.

Wake up Overland. We have an opportunity to move forward. Please do not squander such opportunity.

Suzy,
Well said! I would love to see Overland improve and I love MBC's ideas and visions.

A vote for Keller or Schneider will bring the same old, same old, and Overland will go down the sewer and stagnate. Neither Schneider or Keller have the abilities to move Overland forward.

Blue Eyes,
Perhaps I didn't explain myself right. Conlon signs were stolen out of Eedie's yard; she did NOT steal signs from anybody’s yard. The facts were twisted around. So consider the source that tried to spread that rumor of Eedie stealing signs.

Maybe the supporters of MBC could email their supportive comments to the Journal so I don't have to read the tripe that Snake Oil Salesmen like the Schneider peeple are putting out.

Overland residents must just love the thought of having Bob Dody, Frank Munsch, Leo Stuckey, Phil Paul and The Ortman's running Overland Again. Those were the days.

Schneider will be the nice little soldier for the Ward Warriors. A bunch of guys who did what they could for those who supported them; and ignored the rest of us. The Ward Warriors are just a bunch of angry old white men on viagra who sure do like f'n the residents.

Maybe the supporters of MBC did submit letters to the Journal but for reasons only known to the Journal, only Schneider's letters were printed. Imagine the unlikelihood. Out of all the letters sent to the Journal, they just so happen to publish Jerry Paul's pablum.

It is people like Man About Town that give pot smokers and heroin users a bad name.

I love it Bob Dody and Frank Munsch running Overland again. Just what we need more of the same and a Public Works Racket remains.

Love Schneidly's picture of his great diversity of supporters in Overland. It is the Angry White Man's Club.

Never know about those people driving about Town maybe their getting a little sloppy. You know driving a truck late at night or driving a white car writing down address's going real slow looking for signs and such. Never know who is watching. Just never know.

While on the porch I saw the white being driven by a female with a elder male passenger writing down addresses of the house that had Conlon signs. Driver looked like a portly female, she looked really creepy.

The next night Jult 23rd, a red with dark grey or black side accents was seen cruising slowing down the streets in W1 a few blocks from the sign theft area. The truck came by our house 4 times, the last time the were met by a group of residents standing in the street. They didn't want to stop. Driver and passenger W/M
sleazy dirty Midwood junkie types.

You better remember people are out at all time of the night. Ya'll come back HEAR.

If you are not intendedly biased, why would you need to devote an entire page in Opinion section trying to convince readers of you non-bias?

I found it a bit funny that the paper did not have any contrition or offer an apology for what could be an honest mistake. No, Brent Warren devotes his column to blaming the readers for having misconceptions.

Could that guy be any more tedious? I bet he makes a serious adversary in your local Dungeons and Dragons or Warcraft communities.

Wake up people. Everything has been verified here: 1. Cuminale has no occupancy permit, she is a street walker and she is the one who doesn't drive. She is also one of your conlon supporters. 2. Keller has a license, showed it to me. 3. Keller filed a police report on stolen signs this week. 4. Keller is out every day meeting people. 5. Keller's people belong to no hate group, such as yourselves. 6. She worked for the prosecuting attorneys office (a government position for over 9 years). I met her yesterday and up came my Schneider signs, she has class told me to not throw them away to give them back to schneider, because they are expensive. I'm voting for her and I suggest you meet her and stop the lies.

Thanks for sharing anothe of your "heeping helpings" of bullshit. Your stories are so outlandish that no body believes you. If you want to be a successful smear-merchant you really ought to be a bit more sophisticated and soft-peddle your outlandish lies.

I would ask you to back-up your statements but then I remembered you are here with a different handle everyday to smear someone because OverlandChat no longer has a following.

So we get it. You are a disenfranchised member of the ORT falling back on business as usual.

If Peggy H. Keller is not physically able to participate in the public campaign events, how does she muster the strength to personally visit voters at their residence.

Funny, according to ORT supporters such as yourself, Keller is pure genius on the one-on-one conversation. It is a shame she cannot retain these "great communicator" characteristics in public. Heck, it would be nice to bother showing-up from time to time.
