COGG--You have a Credibility Problem!
As some have posted, COGG has a definite credibility problem. The posters have made their case: 1) "We don't endorse candidates, but please vote for MBC or Schneider" 2) Claim a neutral stance, but COGG's treasurer is Schneider's campaign deputy treasurer This would lead even the most innocent bystander to think that this organization isn't about "good government", but instead about getting their man in office and keeping the status quo. It is a shame, because I think there are members of COGG that want true change. That want to move forward. There are also some "no longer members" that have quit the organization over their disappointment with the lack of progressive values of this organization. There are some in COGG leadership that see this and have shown concerned. This timeline was handed out at the last meeting. That says to me that there are internal concerns about their own credibility. In addition, everyone in attendance was given this survey. |
Perhaps COGG should first define "Good Government". Should good government include that for every idea floated before the electorate, there should be a valid plan that can be implemented to make the idea a reality? Should good government include being above ethical questioning? Perhaps a non-cronyism pledge? That very definition of "good government" can help them find their new direction.
(And a set of by-laws and more open proceedings wouldn't hurt them either.)

So now the Cogg hate group has sent out a letter unsigned, wanting votes for Schneider and Conlon (lol). I guess they know Keller knows so many attorneys they are afraid of a lawsuit, they think she might be like Ms. Colon and sue. If this group is so up front why hide in the shadows as to who you are? Sounds like awful govt. to me. Oh and overland sailor, wannabe journalist, you can prosecute when anything is taken from your yard (or borrowed lol) so don't even try to be a wannabe attorney. Mrs. Keller now has my vote, and yes she does drive. She is very much unlike the ward 1 loser you got who doesn't have an occupancy permit or drive and steals. I think you are the problem behind all the lies and hate in Overland. Just what do you do for a living? Get a life.
You think Keller has an ulcer now just wait and see what happens when Schneider gets elected. Unlike Kientzle she will not pull the votes away she'll just pave the way for the Dody regime to return to power.
Just saw the big Schneider Sign being pulled by that guy who pulled it for the ORT Team last year. So there you have it.
EyeSore I don't want that in my neighborhood.
ThinkPeopleThink Of course you can prosecute if something is "taken" from you yard. However, the sign issue did not involve Councilperson Schneider's yard, which is why I said he would have no standing to file charges in the eyes of the court.
Also, nothing was "taken". The signs were taken down, but they were left there. That doesn't make it right (far from it), but it also doesn't make it stealing.
FineWine Actually, phone bill problems existed with several council people, not just one. One in particular would clearly be considered on the "other" side by COGG. Also, those issues (concerning all the former Councilpeople with phone bill issues) are somewhat irrelevant when you consider that those bills were resolved by those former Council members.
Thankfully, the majority of the Council had the sense to avoid such unnecessary issues in the future by voting not to continue to practice giving Council members City cells.
It's too bad the entire Council didn't agree with protecting the taxpayers money in this way, but at least most of them did. Hopefully those more concerned about their personal convenience than the needs of the people of Overland will be looking for other part-time employment after April 2008.

I was curious who the women in that photo were as well. I marginally recognise one of them but cannot put a name to the face.
Anyone know who they are?
