Jeff Jull Juices-up campaign via Jennings

Just got back from a field trip to Maplewood. On this exciting trip I picked up a copy of the “8-day prior” reports from the election board. More over-the-limit, soon-to-be-refunded contributions on Schneider’s report. (The rule rollback, which might be post-dated, set the limits at $325). They include:

Reliable Research $350
Munsch Outdoor Maintenance $500

And, the big winner is (drumroll please)....

Jennings Printing with an additional $1147 of in-kind contributions, bringing P&Z Commission Chair Jeff Jull total for this campaign to $4,422.00 !!

I assume refund checks will soon be in the mail.

Sorry, I don’t have copies yet to post. I might be near a scanner tonight. If so, I will scan and post them then.

Does anyone know where I could bid on the Planning and Zoning Chairmanship?

I bid an even $5,000.00 cash for the Chairmanship. My bid is good until canceled, but I don't know which table I am supposed to put the money under.

Mike doesn't know jack about business administration but he certainly knows how to sell his wares to the highest bidder.

Now that is good business. Nothing opens a sales account like a solid kickback to the buyer.

MaryHart's comment got me thinking.

Where is Schneider's fees for his website? It is not listed on his report.

Hmmm....

I read on the bottom of Schneider's latest political signs, you know the signs with the Glamor Shot photo. "Caution: Mike Schneider's Head/Ego may be larger than they appear in photo".

You guys are cracking me up. Everything you are saying is so funny, but the funniest thing is, what you are saying has a loud ring of truth to it.

I drove by the Woodson / Midland Intersection on my way home from work this afternoon. I notice two metal polls in the easement where the turn lane from Woodson to Midland is (next to Quicktrip). Was there a sign there once, or is a new sign on its way in?

If it's a new one than I believe that land belongs to the County (which would mean no political signs could be there) or perhaps FineWine is correct and it the land somehow belongs to the City (which also means political signs should not be there).

Is this the spot at Midland and Woodson that was being discussed the other day?

Unincorporated When it comes to those few who choose to be informed voters (regardless of the side they choose to be on) you are correct, signs mean very little other than giving them a chance to show everyone else who they support.

However, of the voting public, only a small minority are people who take the time and make the effort to understand the issues and the candidates, especially on the municipal level.

When it comes to the uninformed majority signs matter. It's similar to marketing any product or service. You "brand" it and then you keep showing it to people via every outlet you can afford. The results are more sales, or in this case, more votes. It's a concept that has kept companies like Coke, Bud, McDonalds, etc quite profitable for years.

I wish more of the voting public relied on their own research of the issues and the history of the candidates. Unfortunately, that is not the world we live in.....yet.

Also, for those who have been suggesting that Councilperson Conlon has somehow been "copying" Councilperson Schneider's sign locations such as at Midland and Woodson, as well as Lackland and Sims, thats a bit ridiculous. The owners of those locations have traditionally allowed all candidates to put signs on these lots if they ask to do so. Nothing new other than the odd attempt to spin a nice tradition in a negative direction.

I keep hearing from Schneider Supporters that a negative to MBC is that she is using the Overland Mayoral position as a stepping stone for higher office.

Can anyone give me an example of an Overland politicians that found holding office to be a stepping stone for higher office?

Being a Mayor is not a good stepping stone to anything but being Mayor.

Schneider still displaying American with his signs with the flags touching the ground? Pretty disrespectful to our republic.

Unincorporated Man. Do you realize the difference in Conlon signs versus Scnheider Signs? The Conlon signs are a labor of love built and designed by retired Overland residents. Conlon doesn't have the money to compete with 5,000 donations of free printing and signs. But what she does have is a great support group of hard working people who have time and talents and like most of us very little money. I spoke to one guy who said it was taking about a week to build and assemble them so just because Mike can slap his signs up in 5 minutes on poles it's a lot different. Actually it seems like it was Schneider who reacted to Conlon's signs. Conlon isn't pushy, or high pressure she is soft spoken and appreciative of all support and unlike the other side she actually puts out in literature and ask if people want signs. I have heard they have had several request for more but can't do anymore.

Today, the breeze was a blowin' on Lackland. Only two of Schneider's six flags were touching the ground.
