What if they held a parade and nobody came?!

If you haven't read in the comments here or on Sailor's blog here, MT Schneider is having a parade today that will wind through about 40 streets of our fair city. A few things have yet to be mentioned about this:

With a lack of notice, will the traffic disruption caused by such a parade actually lose votes for MT Schneider?
It seems to be that any parade (throughout the metro area) is given plenty of notice so that folks can plan their day appropriately and not be stuck in such traffic.

What if they held a parade and nobody came?
Temps are forecasted to be around 99 degrees at parade time. Do they think folks will be outdoors? Perhaps the only people who will see this parade are Conlon's campaign workers who will be out delivering flyers. Which leads to...

Do noise ordinances get waived for parades?
Since everyone will be inside, escaping the heat, either noone will see this parade or the contigent will be going through our neighborhoods with horns blaring. I see this as more votes lost, especially if it is right in the middle of the Cards' game.

On an orange air quality day, does it make sense for all this senseless driving?
On days where levels are forecasted to be Orange or Red, above 100 AQI, the American Lung Association and the St. Louis Regional Clean Air Partnership issue an Air Quality Alert. This could include health advisories for citizens or susceptible individuals to limit certain activities and potential restrictions on industrial activities. During air quality alerts, we ask both businesses and people in St. Louis to modify their behaviors so we can reduce our emissions that lead to ozone air pollution.
Which leads me to...

Have you ever seen so many Buicks in one parade?
Perhaps they are a corporate sponsor. ;)

With nothing to gain by this, one wonder's why Schneider would even think about doing such an action. Oh wait, I know why. I can smell it in the air. That smell in the air----that's not teen spirit, but the desperation of Schneider, Dody, Munsch, et al.
Considering that this fiasco is starting at Ortmann's, can we consider this the funeral procession of MT Schneider's campaign?

After reading this and Sailor's blog, I truly believe this is a reflection of the inherent unfairness that is "business as usual" at city hall.
What would have been the response if Keller or Conlon had requested the same?
Why was the OBA turned down for a simple parade on one street (Lackland) but an okay given to one that covers 40+ streets?
Suzyjax, is there a law against such unequal treatment?

Yes, smokeless!
How many felons in this parade?
How many cars in this parade?
How many cars will have evaded personal property tax?

Inquiring minds want to know.

If they ARE in the yellow convertible, I believe the taxes have NOT been paid and the waiver is still in place. Does the county tax collector know about that?

So, who all will be in this parade? The majority of COGG for sure. Maybe Overlands real estate moguls Lester Dills, William Ridings,Mohammed Wasim and Norma Ramsey will all be there too! D R Properties, Anna Properties and Golden Delta might even have floats! What fun!

Please elaborate on DR Properties we need to know what they are all about.
Also can you explain why the Purzner people are being duped by the Schneider's isn't it evident they are going to get screwed especially with the Chief and Herman?

Conlon's people are working their rear-ends off here in my Ward and I saw the Schneider Posse driving by in their air conditioned cars. Tale of Two Campaigns grassroots hard work sweating their ass off versus gimics. I certainly hope the King and Queen of Tupperware are defeated on Tuesday.

Doing a bit of research I discovered that there is an ordinance against using your car horn to make "unnecessary noise". I'll be curious to see if OPD issued any citations to parade participants for violating that ordinance, or will this be another case of the old guard being above the law?

Forget car horns I was literally pushed off the road.

And excuse me but Phil Paul should not be allowed to drive and try to honk a horn at the same time. By the way he was not the one that I got pushed over by.

FINEWINE Chief Herron issued a permit for that parade. Apparently nearly no one on the Council nor the President Pro Tem knew anything about it, but a permit was issued.

Also, according to one resident who called the Chief about it, the wages of the officers and the cost of the fuel used in the police cars involved are being paid out of the police budget, when they should be being paid for by the Schneider campaign in my opinion.

Law, what law,

Mike Schneider is in town!
Come on people.

Schneider doesn't need no stinking laws. Doesn't care how much he disturbs your Sunday. Doesn't care how much the city will pay for his "escorts". Doesn't even need to pay his property taxes on campaign vehicles.

I wonder how much each vehicle recieved from campaign to reimburse their fuel use?

I also see that Cheif Herron gave his "in-kind" contribution by issuing permit and employing our officers to clear the roads of all citizenry so Mike Schneider can take a Sunday Campaign Drive.

The COGG is as pathetic as anything the ORT dreamed-up. How can the ORT supporters watch the COGG kick Ann Purzner from office and in less than a year get behind the COGG candidate?

Isn't it supposed to be "enemy of my enemy is my friend."

The whole COGG/DODY/MUNCH/KARAM/SCHOCK/SCHNIEDER/HERMAN/HERRON crew is lined up to recieve a humiliating kick in the crouch and you folks aren't going to take the shot.

Vote Conlon. At least she will be honest with you Ward 3 and not be planning to turn your neighborhood into a Lowes' parking-lot.

Wait, can what Gravy be saying is true! This can be seen as an "in kind" donation, and wouldn't this violate city ordinance. Specifically, SECTION 200.180: POLITICAL CAMPAIGNING BY POLICE OFFICERS RELATING TO OFFICES OF THE CITY -- PROHIBITED.

City ordinances are online here.

M Giroux, J Rahn, S Ficken. These people have committed a class B felony by their most recent mailing. Somehow Mrs. Keller was given their mailing that was sent to Cogg members. It is considered hate mail under a certain statute. I called Mrs. Keller to find out if this was true - she said she was unable to discuss this issue due to advice from her Attorney! I called my attorney, it is a class A misdemeanor to pass these out. Do not, I repeat do not pass out anything Cogg gives you. Please tell friends and neighbors.

Yes, the COGG material that was mailed was illegal in the sense that it did not have the needed "paid for by....".
While this might be the work of political amatuers, it is hardly hate speech and/or illegal for just the words in the letter alone.

FINEWINE The Police do not have to ensure the safety of the parade. The alternative is simple, don't approve the permit. That was the approach Chief Herron took awhile back when the OBA wanted a parade. He didn't approve it because of the cost. And that proposed parade had no where near an extensive route as the Scheider Campaign's. It also didn't benefit only one political group in town.

This was a political event. In my opinion, having taxpayers pay for the costs of having police protection there (when you could simply not approve the event in the first place) is pretty much the same as not charging rental fees for political events at the community center. Effectively, the City of Overland, via the Overland Police Department has subsidized the Schneider campaign.

I wouldn't care if this was a parade for any of the three candidates, a state rep, or whatever else, the taxpayers should not have to foot the bill for a political event, period.

Thanks Mary,

A consistent component of any habitual liar is they will attack the source. I also would not expect Mike Schneider to have the attention span necessary to determine that all of SuzyJax postings are based in fact evidenced by her consistent referencing official state documents, ordinances, ethics committee rulings, court transcripts, case pleadings and in no case will be spinning her opinion out of "whole cloth" as your candidate, Mike Schneider.

Whether you agree or disagree with her interpretation or anyone eles interpretation of these facts is your call. Obviously given the COGG's backing of Schneider that these facts are not important to a significant number of Overland voters. But you cannot call the information posted on this site "lies".

As far as theives, people on this site pay their personal property taxes and do not steal or free ride off the public's largess. People on this site do not accept campaign contributions that are seventeen times (17x) greater than the individual statutory limit that contain inherent and obvious conflicts of interest.

People on this site do not back policies that are not possible legally, politically or economically for the sake of pandering to Ward 3 voters.

And probably the biggest example of the type of theif you will not find posting on this site was drving in the parade. Schneider's campaign hack J. "Spydog" Fetch, driver of the Schneider Wagon and notorious identity theif. That fact is as well established and documented as any you can find.

Mike Schneider is welcome to refute any of the facts given on this site in any venue he so chooses.

So thanks for playing.

I think the Schneider's are perhaps nice people in a one on one situation but they give me the impression that they think they are better than most people like they are from a higher class better than us. You know like their "you know what" doesn't stink.

Politically he has made a lot of promises to both sides. When you cross paths the way he has you can't deliver you double cross.

When I looked at his website and saw he was was talking about platforms of Ann's in a fake way through a phony Q/A I figured this guy would do or say anything to get elected a true political whore you know.

I saw Schnieders parade, 7 cars, no police, maybe it was winding down. His big ole ugly picture. Who doesn't smile for a photo. I've seen better mug shots in the paper. Geez. Cogg is backing him and Conlon. tell them middle of the roaders get hit by both sides. I've seen every meeting on cable, tell me the difference between Conlon and Schnieder, they have voted the same on every issue. Both A kissers to me. I'm voting for Peggy. High strung Owensby dropped by told me the bldgs at Ashby were purchased through Heartland bank and Herman sits on the board of directors there. Now IF THAT IS TRUE, I don't know of a bigger conflict of interest than that. But I don't believe everything I hear. Sounds tooo far-fetched maybe he's blowin off steam again.

veryimportant:

The difference is obvious
Schneider sat for a year and did nothing, May and Company tried to draw in Purzner.

Conlon was on the council at that time.
Conlon or schneider wweren't on the council when 2500 Ashby was brought up.

Conlon and Schneider have voted the same on some issues since April of this year, about 4 months.

If you limit your knowledge base to the council meetings and what owenwig tells you, you are an informed voter.

check out the debates on OS websites. You'll see the difference immediately. You won't see your choice because she chose not to attend for what ever reason.

Your observations of the parade say a great deal about you mental abilitiies, it was 21 cars and 2 patrol cars.

But someone who sees hate mail in a mailer not supporting choice will hardly respond to logic.

COGG used MBC for fund raiser on the Purzner. Recall then imploded on itself when Dody and crew pushed Schneider down their throats. Conlon isn't even a member of COGG.

MAT,
You are indeed correct that I made some errors in my post. First and foremost the informed voter should have read AN UNINFORMED VOTER.

Conlon was not on the Council when 2500 Ashby was purchased. She did indeed oppose Peggy Kellers idea of put it up to a vote. I agree with vote as I doubt MS Keller has been inside the property.

Conlon was not on the Counvil when 45K was allocated to Wild Acres and Schneider dropped the ball and nothing got done. He'd rather ho knob with skidmark and purzners buddies the Schoeders.

YOU WERE WRONG ABOUT OVERLAND SAILOR WRITING THIS POST. HAD HE DONE SO THOSE ERRORS WOULD HAVE BEEN CAUGHT. I wrote this post I am not and have never been OS.

I acknowledge my mistakes, and I stand up for what is right and fair.

You accused Os of writig my post, you were wrong. All you have to do is admit it.

Conlon may have been a member of Cogg during the recall for Keller's auntie Anne. She's been AWOL ever since.

Got the gonads to admit, I doubt it. Did Knode put up to this or maybe Billie. You picked a "Klack Hole" to back
Try rehab again it the in thing do. You may also want an evaluation from 5535 delmar.

OVERLAND SAILOR - Write with his own style few typos, proper grammar and long.

Overland Observer - Write what he is feeling, short posts, gets pretty much to the point, makes types with regularity. Feel free to discuss it with me,gynkt

Remember Lyman Davies, he blew himself up on the parking lot of the old national store. He was arming the bomb and had a opps moment. Word on the street back then he was on his way to bomb a politicians tavern.

Elect Schneider and return to the good old days, when state and federal laws did not apply to this government.

Poor Ms Keller, so sick she had to miss the debates then miss scheduled another one, missed a ouncil meeting due to illness. I wish I knew waht she stood for and how she planned to accomplish it.
