Mayor Purzner Godless Blasphemer: I swear to God Mike.......

Tonight Tonight! There is a council meeting tonight therefore I have written a small essay as a mission brief for those planning to attend. I swear to God, I wouldn't miss it for the world.

Everybody lies. It may only be “white” lies, but everyone tells lies or “omits the truth” sometimes. Most people do not offend God by telling lies using his name. Swearing to God is a measure of a person's veracity. No well meaning person would ever evoke God's name while knowingly telling a lie. To commit a heresy for personal gain is the province of a select few in our community.

We start lying at around age 4 to 5 when we gain an awareness of the use and power of language. This first lying is not malicious, but rather to find out, or test, what can manipulated in a child’s environment. Eventually children begin to use lying to get out of trouble or get something they want.

White lies, those concocted to protect someone’s feelings, are not a big deal at all. People, like Mayor Purzner, are compelled to lie about both the small and large stuff has a problem.

We often call these folks pathological liars or also known as the current Mayor of Overland (which is a description, not a diagnosis). She lies to protect herself, look good, gain financially or socially and avoid punishment. Quite often the person who has been deceived knows that this type of liar has to a certain extent deluded him or herself and is therefore to be somewhat pitied.

A much more troubling group is those who lie a lot — and knowingly — for personal gain which also include Mayor Ann Purzner. These people may have a diagnosis called antisocial personality disorder, also known as being a sociopath, and often get into scrapes with the law.

Lying often gets worse with the passage of time. When you get away with a lie it often impels you to continue your deceptions. Also, liars often find themselves perpetrating more untruths to cover themselves.

Why do we dislike liars, especially like Mayor Ann Purzner of Overland, Missouri, so much? It’s a matter of trust. When a person lies, they have broken a bond – an unspoken agreement to treat others as we would like to be treated. Serious deception often makes it impossible for us to trust another person again.

Avoidance of eye contact:
Usually someone makes eye contact at least half the time they are talking to you. If you notice them avoiding eye contact or looking down during a specific part of a conversation, they may well be lying.

Change of voice: A variation in pitch of voice or rate of speech can be a sign of lying. So can lots of umms and ahhs.

Body language. Turning your body away, covering your face or mouth, a lot of fidgeting of hands or legs can indicate deception.

Contradicting yourself:. Making statements that just don’t hold together should make you suspicious.

If you lie all the time, even about unimportant things, you are likely to have a problem that will eventually -- if it hasn’t already -- cause you real relationship, financial or legal troubles. Figuring out what is driving you to lie in the first place will help heal this self-destructive behavior. This may mean going into treatment with a therapist to discover why you feel the need to deceive.

So, come one and come all to tonight's council meeting and watch our lying Mayor exhibit each and every one of these aforementioned behaviors as well offending God to boot.

I swear to God Mike............

Well Gravy is definitely a "Mister" Though Mr. Gravy sounds a bit like some sort of kitchen appliance. :-)

At tonight's meeting one resident read off the entire list of issues that have plagued Overland since the Mayor's election. Afterwards the Mayor said "Thanks Bonnie, I had no idea I had done all those things".

Obviously the Mayor is not a reader of this blog, or The Overland Examiner, or the Suburban Journal, or the Post-Dispatch. She likely doesn't watch the news on Channels 2, 4, or 5 either.

Overland council approves recall vote
By Norm Parish
ST. LOUIS POST-DISPATCH
01/23/2007

OVERLAND — The City Council officially agreed Monday night to place before voters the question of whether to recall Mayor Ann Purzner.

By a 4-3 vote, the council decided to have St. Louis County election officials place the recall measure on the April 3 ballot. The resolution was voted on even though county election officials have already announced that the measure would be on the ballot.

Purzner and the three opponents of the recall effort said an ordinance is needed for officials to move the issue forward, meaning at least five votes are needed to approve the measure.

Purzner's lawyer, Doug Rudman, said he will file for an injunction in St. Louis County Court because he not only believes improper procedures were used to bring the issue before voters, but also because there is no legal basis for the recall. Advertisement

"I think this is the political equivalent of a coup d'etat," he said in an interview.

The group Citizens of Overland for Good Government wants Purzner removed because of her failed attempt to replace Police Chief Jim Herron and for holding council meetings in a room too small to accommodate large crowds.

In the past, judges have agreed with the residents, saying Purzner improperly attempted to remove Herron without council approval and citing the mayor for violating the state's open meetings law.

Election Update:

As of today, I believe we are down to 2 candidates in each ward.

Who is missing from ward 1 and 4 if there are only 2 candidates in every ward?

o.j., in Ward 4, Martin Bergin dropped out. That leaves Sherry Karr of Westwise, and Tim Jones of Thorpe.
In Ward 1, only Eedie Cuminale is challenging Richard Knode. Richard Martin and Ryan Griener did not qualify. Joe Stoverink likely chose to give Eedie all the limelight.
In Ward 2, as before, incumbent Sellers is defending against MBC.
Ward 3 has Oakes against Keller.

Thanks for the info, Nazrudin.

Any information about Peggy Keller in ward 3 or Sherry Karr in ward 4?
Where do they stand on current Overland issues?

Those were excellent Barbies, ort public relations....hee hee
I'll bet the Overland Barbie kits will be flying off the shelves. Owenswig has a new "play" thing now. This should keep Owenswig busy and off the streets. Do you think Purzner-Con will go over Kenny's to play Barbies?

The Mad Chatters are about ready to break loose. They've been bottling themselves up so much that their lies are busting at their seams to come out.

ORT Public,

A while back it was either Barbie or Skipper that when you swung her arm around she went from a 12 yr old to an anatomically correct 21 yr old.

Before I purchase nurse Barbie & Ken, can you tell me does the Ken doll have these capabilities? Or does he come with this & when you take his hair off he shrinks?

New Girl, she'll only go play with him if he has the above feature.

Two Layer:

ORT Public Relations is a serious Public Relations Firm. We take all of our clients and their privacy very seriously We make prudent marketing decisions that we hope will promote their positive agenda and turnkey approach for Overland.

With that being said if you put the Ken doll in a glass of cold water yes his wig will shrink.

Mr. Whitefolks,

I agree with you.
Since Feb. 06, Knode & Sellers have missed 5 meetings each & Owensby missed 3 meeting. All this in less than a year.
And I have not even listed the meetings they walked out of to disrupt/end the meeting.
The $300 they are payed to attend a meeting should be used to pay for trash service for 7.5 needy people in each of their wards.
But that would be if they REALLY cared about the people. They have proven time & time again by their actions, that THEY DON'T.

C3,

They are paid $500 a month which makes is even worse.

Two layer,

I was taking the number of meetings,
(which varies from year to year)and dividing it be the $6,000 a year.
2007, for example, there are 18 scheduled council meetings. That would make it $333 to attend each meeting. There were more meetings in 06 because so many were cancelled.

C3,

Thanks for explaining, I was just thinking of the $500 a month and the $1,000 a month we pay the mayor not the number of meeting they have missed.

New Girl,

And to think some of those old Barbies are worth a small fortune & they are only what 50 to 55 yrs old, just think what we could get for a 70 yr old Barbie.

Who would have ever guest our mayor could have cost us so much.
