Wow! What a glorious day it has been in Overland. My confidence in my hometown has been fully restored. Well, maybe not fully. (What up, Ward 3?!)
Now that it appears we will be able to begin to move forward, what would you like to see addressed by the council in the next few months.
My wish list includes:
I think with the first one, we will be well on our way to accomplishing the rest of those goals. And, if we can get in tax generating businesses maybe we can work on those other "not as important" goals such as pools and city-paid trash--but we are far, far away from there financially. I am sure there are other things I will think of later.

I would like to add to the list, I would like to see all these dilapidated properties around Overland taken care of once and for all.
Either Ward 3 is a magnet for fools or I’ll have to agree with the theory, there is something in the water that makes some people irrational. Kind of like the village of the damned.
I feel sorry for the "normal" people in Ward 3 that still have their wits about them.
I wonder if the water in Ward 3 had an adverse affect on Keller, hence she claims to have an IQ of 160; higher than Einstein himself!! If so, the Members of Mensa will be ascending upon Ward 3 to test the water. You see, she lied before even hitting the Council table. That lie makes me highly suspect of her. Anybody who lies about an IQ has questionable character in my book. I just hope she doesn't have more lies lined up for Ward 3 residents to swallow with the left over ORT KOOL-AIDE from the boo hoo party.
I just read that Carol Sparkes (this time as BE) said she wasn't sure what they were serving at the dinner. Carol I believe that taste in your mouth is crow.
Of course, we need to now take the high road and for that, Carol, I say thank you..... thank you for allowing me to make fun of you for the last month, thank you for the half-thought-out and seldom proofread posts, thank you for the helping convince others that your ideas are worn out, misleading and bereft of any true thought and, lastly, thank you for allowing Gravy to to beat you like a rented mule.

1. informal town hall meetings
2. citizens/businessmen comm. to help handle problems that may arise with public works.
3. change the way citizen comments are done. Instead of filling out a piece of paper, people who wish to speak line up. It will end any favoritism & give them an idea on how long it will take. That way no one can bitch no matter what side you're on. Buy a 3 min. timer.

4. Slum lords, I really wish everytime the police have to be called to any rental, that the owner gets a call too, no matter what time of day or night.
5. Harder fines for those who refuse maintain their property. Ex: grass cutting, 1st fine say $10 2nd time for the same thing $20 and so on. If you notice it's always the same homes.
Hmmm a wish list for Overland?
I agree, number one priority is the City Administrator. We need professional management here and that professional management would be looked on favorably as well.
However, the first step to making Overland work better for everyone and more attractive to potential businesses is a serious revamping of Public Works.
I would like to see a committee made up of interested residents, members of the Overland Business Association, a Council member of two and people from Pubic works. The goal would be simply to analyze how Public works does everything and "fix" each step that is "broken" one at a time.
Wait, there is something even more important. We need to get people who are involved in Overland Politics, be they elected officials or supporters to stop focusing on the past and turn their attention to the future. I don't care what this former mayor or that former Council member did. 99% of the time it has (or at least should not have) any bearing on today.
We need to learn from the mistakes of the past, but we cannot address the future if we can't stop raving about the "wrongs" of yesterday. Let in go.
Most of the people that were a hindrance to the City of Overland are out. Let’s rejoice in that and move forward.
Thank goodness the majority of forward thinkers and people who TRULY have the best interest for Overland are now going to be on the Council, the 2 ORT stragglers will be kept in check. I just hope Keller sees the light and eventually breaks away from Owensby and the ORT poison. But I fear she may feel indebted to the ORT for all the time and money they put into her campaign. Keller’s lying and nasty demeanor bothers me, because that is the ear mark of the ORT…..sighs. I hope Keller proves me wrong, and does some good on the Council.
I sure hope this “FREE TRASH” nonsense is behind us now.
I would like to see free trash, but I also know that the sky is not rose colored and you can't make money grow on trees. I would also like a city provided swimming pool but again unicorns don't exist except in fairy tales and the barnum and bailey circus...
Most of all I would like to see a one stop shop for businesses to open in Overland, you go into one office and they sit down and help you deal with all of the paperwork that you need to complete to get all your inspections and licenses. And then maybe once we have Overland up and running and new businesses are plentiful and the tax dollars are flowing back into the city, then we could restore free trash and a swimming pool without having to cut other city services.

You know I was always taught to be a gracious winner but in this case. NO! Why be gracious? The ORT posters on the overland chat site have been nothing but nasty. they fought in typical ORT fashion making accusations and lying until they couldn't lie no more. And then when they lose they expect us to be gracious and smile and say thank you just because they give us a half hearted backhanded congratulations. They can't even make a congratulatroy statement without getting a dig in. So I am not going to be the bigger man. I am not going to be the adult. And if they don't like it they can stop reading my blog. I was thinking of shutting down the ovcc now that the fight is over but I realized the fight isn't over and won't be until the ORT is literally dead and in its grave. They have been rejected by a 3-1 vote and yet they still think they have the city's support and the best plans for the city.
Get it through your thick heads. Ann lost the recount and more people voted for someone other then Ann in the original election. If it hadn't been for Gerry K we would have never had this period in Overland history. Get a clue, we don't want the ORT in Overland anymore.

I will say, from the out side looking in, Most of the posts on both blogs read like a grade school playground " Your a big Poopy head!" "uh uh, your a poopy head!" "am not" "are too!" It's been fun reading but for cryin out loud, get it together and work together. If some of you put as much effort into working together as you did diggin off in each others ass, you might get some real work done, But I could be wrong!

Please dont get me wrong, I'm proud to say I'm from Overland.I always will be extremely proud of where I came from and my family still lives.What I can't be proud of is all of the bullshit I've seen going back and forth on these 2 blogs from People I've known my entire life.People that I've Loved, liked and respected, acting like complete asses towards each other over POLITICS! ( makes me proud to have served my country!) Last night on channel 4 at 10 pm O'Connell caught up with Purzner yesterday at city hall. She was there with a friend cleaning out personal belongs from the office.
He said she told him she did not want to appear on camera. She did say she will be at Mondays meeting & will fullfill her position for the next 2 wks or until the election results are confirmed.
Blue Eyed Wino Goat is tossing the bigot card on the table again...sigh.

It is possible that Mike did not post on OverlandChat because he doesn't have access there. Awhile ago I heard from people who wanted to post there and could not get access.
That caused me to wonder if Spydog was OK, though recently he popped up again so I figure all is well at his end.
On many levels I tend to agree with Mike (nice to meet you BTW). All sides in Overland Politics really need to start focusing on the future rather than the past. We'll get more accomplished that way.

Thanks for posting here. Unfortunately, with the semi-annomity of the internet, folks (myself included) tend to write in a more inflamatory nature. I am glad you acknowledge this was from both sides. But, then again, "they started it" runs along the lines of the Iveland Schoolyard antics of days gone by.
I hope you continue to post and/or read. I think that the majority of the posts are in the direction of constructive. At least the percentage of those should increase now that we are in a post-election environment.
That said, I am glad that we do have those minority of postings that address some of the silly and outright lies from "the other side". That, after all, is our purpose.

Carol Sparks doesn't like the fact that she has been completely busted for her purposeful deception and unfounded accusations. She wants us to stop calling her on her purposeful deceptions and unfounded accusations. The best manner in which Carol Sparks could put an end to being called out for her purposeful deception and unfounded accusations is to come clean on her multiple personalities and unfounded accusations.

I never had been actively involved with Overland politics until Carol Sparks and her ORTian enablers hand delivered the Overland Watch to my door, directly below the no soliciting sign.
When I read the Overland Watch I was most offended by how unsophisticated the ORT was at politics. Second, I was offended as someone who appreciates good journalism. Fourth, I was offended by the rampant grammatical errors. Fifth, I was offended by the unfounded accusations and general disingenuous nature of the paper's content. Especially smearing the OPD repeatedly for the thoroughly investigated and unfortunate circumstance of the Silva case.
My point is that I did not come to their house and repeatedly post handbills and fake newspapers unfairly smearing public servant. I did not violate a person's property by soliciting directly in front of a posted no soliciting sign. By showing so little respect for me, I jumped off the sidelines and decided to publicly demonstrate little respect for them.
One of the most basic and simple rules of politics and campaigning is to be sure not to motivate more opposition when appealing to your base. That is exactly what they violated.
In closing, if your second-mom wants to stop being referenced on this blog, tell her to come clean on her past deceptions, stop purposely trying to deceive by using multiple personalities and vow to stop lying about Overland politics in the future.

Welcome to the board. I agree the most important thing now is to work to move the city of Overland forward. I would love to see the city of Overland step up and become the city it could and should be. We are located pretty much central to St Louis county, we are minutes from the airport, we are minutes from st charles, and have rail and highway access. The biggest thing I can see is we need to convince developers that we are an easy to work with city. We need to develop the page corridor (especially the stretch from woodson to burns) as a mixed used retail/ light industrial corridor and we need to revitalize the woodson corridor from lackland to the city limits along the lines fo the Delmar loop CWE or the Maplewood main street. And we need to show businesses that they can come into Overland and not have to jump through excessive hoops.
So welcome to the board. We don't expect you to agree with everything you say but we do expect you to be able to back up what you say with facts and logic. Something other people can't do so they stay on teh other board.

Believe it or not, I believe Ann is obligated to show up and run the meeting on Monday. At the moment, she is the validly elected Mayor subject to the certification by the Board of Election Commissioners of the recall that certainly does not appear to have gone her way. If she thinks it is in the best interest of the City that she not run the meeting, she should resign and allow the City to move on without her. Bottom line, she needs to either carry out her duty or resign.
Of course, maybe Dugzy is about to swoop in with that appeal that he promised a few months ago. What's that..... the election already took place..... well at least we got the loss finalized sooner so I can chalk that up to my now perfect stats. No wins. Not one. Not in the courthouse, not at the polls and not in the hearts and minds.
As for this new Mike guy, I tend to side with Gravy. This Carol Sparks woman called him a bigot, unequivocally. Carol even attempted to delete various posts where she deleted that unfounded charge. Luckily, some posters on this board had already copied it. So, in the end, Carol continues to shroud her posts with multiple, albeit transparent, identities and has leveled a charge against one of ours, unapologetically. That is what makes it personal with Carol and with us. If you side with her, its tough for the personal nature not to rub off on you.

You are getting sloppy in postings. When having a conversation with yourself through two or more of your multiple personalities, you really ought to space out the individual posts.
What is even funnier is that you can get a good estimate of how long the underlying posts will be by the length of time between posts.
Do any of your personalities get jealous of the others for getting too much attention. There isn't enough "ice time" for all of your personalities to offer a congratulatory musing everyday.

It really is amusing to read the posts over at Carolsparkeschat.com. It appears that the only thing that has suddenly brought her to this view that we all need to get along is getting her ass handed to her by the electorate. Carol resorted to name calling and false accusations. She continues to talk to herself and then stoops to the gutter with the "must be playing with himself" humor. Carol is the same woman who accused Harry Richey of sleeping with his mother. It's not that we can't let by-gones be by-gones. It's that we don't want to and really don't need to. Why would I want to make up with someone who has such foul thoughts and only comes to the table once she gets her ass beat. Carol have fun on your imaginary trip to the Bahamas with your imaginary wife. As Gravy says, you will never be taken seriously.
Lucky, I agree entirely with your assessment. My opinion Overland Chat and its posters were intentionally dishonest, they manipulated the truth made up ghastly lies and defamed people.
In my opinion the Chatroom, coupled with mail-fraud and voter-fraud and a few people paid handsomely to lie to the public all effected the race of last year. I'm looking forward to seeing if the same people who voted last year who do not live in Overland voted again this year. I suspect they did.
It is my belief the intention of the chat was to deliberately harm those not alligned with Ann.
Music note as well as the the others were strategic and deliberate in their comments I believe intentionally so.
Gravy is correct, as usual with his opinions and assessments too. It is my belief the posters had malice and forethought with regard to what they posted.
My opinion the lesson learned about last years election is that Overland Chat, mailfraud and voter fraud as well as shills handsomely paid to defame people were effective in getting Ann elected.
The deceptive campaign they ran was the easy part. The proof of the pudding would come after she took office. She could not lead, she did not have the skills, knowledge or talents needed to lead this community and she never possessed such skills. In essence once elected she imploded and proved to be the habitual and pathological liar that she always was.
This blog, coupled with the OS Examiner time and time again was able to expose thier lies.
In closing we all have neighbors who in our life have been very good to us; but you cannot defend the indefenseable. Those who perpetrate lies to affect a political campaign and employ malicious and deragatory means to mislead the public are not forthrite abiding citizens.

That is a great step in the right direction Carol. Baby steps are important and I don't want you to suffer multiple personality withdrawal so we will take it one at a time. I told you to stop using multiple usernames to talk to yourself and you responded by killing-off BLUEEYES II. Now we are getting somewhere.
Think of it as a reconciliation process where you can be reincorporated back into the community.
