question of the day

When Ann was sworn in as mayor she had to give up her seat on the board. If MBC is succesful in the recount is the vacant seat still vacant or does Ann take her seat back?
Who bets she will try and take her seat back if she loses the recount. We need someone to look into the precedents and laws on this before it becomes a problem for MBC.

I'm a Ward 4 resident, and I used to post as Suzanne on Overland Chat. I stopped posting once I realized that the board owner was untrustworthy. I hope that helps.

Mommy, I wish I would have seen your post first and then could have posted within my posts today.
Also, people will assume we are one and the same person since my name is Suzanne also (and Ward 4, too). However, it's not an uncommon name. I laugh that at Iveland there is a teacher, two parent-community volunteers, and others names Suzanne. We get each other confused.

RE: Purzner's former seat.
I too, thought about this question. I was thinking maybe for her it was a good thing a replacment wasn't appointed since she may lose in the recount. But, then again, your point of "if you vacate, you vacate" is a good one.

One Time
as the guy who runs this BLOG I can assure you:
A) I have no love for MB and his merry band of cronies.
B) I started this site because I was worried about Fletch(Spydog) tracking me down, I am not about to do the same.
C) I don't know if I could ISP track through this website since it is owned and ran through a third party and I am using their webspace for free.
D) The e-mail you submitted to get your password went to blogspot.com not to me. I don't even know your e-mail address.

I know that this probably doesn't give you 100% confidence in posting here but I can assure you, I have better things to do with my time tehn try and track down a bunch of "subversives" who want to overthrow Ann Poser.

Its pretty straightforward. The Charter prohibits the Mayor from serving on the Board. As soon as she took the oath of office, she had to resign. Even if the recount reveals that she did not actually win, the fact remains that she was declared the winner by the Board of Election Commissioners AND took the oath of office. She is legally the Mayor now, even if it turns out she didn't win. So, bottom line, she had to resign to become Mayor and there is no way to "un-resign".

By the way, on the Judge front, Gary Gaertner is about as straight up as jurist can be. He runs a tight ship and will have no tolerance for the A Poser show.
