I have never made a personal attack on anyone on Overland Chat. I have rebutted their lies and pointed out discrepancies in their logic. Unfortunately, Blue Eyes/Fine Wine/Music Note/Pickles/DannyInsp can NOT say the same.
I find it ironic that someone needs to point out Carol's good works. It is so something she would do herself!! If what you say is true, that is great. HOWEVER, it is not an excuse to let her lies, half-truths, and deceits against out city to go on unanswered.

Music Note always pointed out her "good works". No matter what other moniker Music Note "logs in as", she is STILL pointing out her "good works". When one has to point out the "good" they do, it most likely means they never did much good in life, so when they do something "good" they have to point it out to people "Look at me, look at the good I do". Carol is absolutely correct. With all the suffering in the world, we should direct our attention to bringing about world peace, solving the problems of famine and eliminating all disease. Just "imagine" all that we could accomplish if we would not spend time calling Carol Sparks on her daily lies. The world would be a better place if we would go back to letting Carol Sparks lie without consequence.
What I find particularly funny is that it would take far less effort to simply come clean on your program of deception. The irony here is that we would all respect Carol more as a result and actually take her seriously. Carol Sparks cannot stop herself from flooding Overland Chat with multiple personalities.

This deal looks like one of the largest and most innovative development proposals the City has seen in years.
I am glad these opportunities are not squandered on box store retailing or a generic restaurant franchises such as Cracker Barrel for instance.
Did anyone get a chance to hear Schneider's take on the Beechnut proposal? He may be one of those silent but brilliant type of guys like Tom Sellers. But given the significance of the transaction he seemed remarkably disinterested.
I personally would have liked to hear a critique of both public and private financial impact of such a development.
Mr. Schneider is always touting his business experience as his best attribute in being qualified for Mayor. I will give the guy the benefit of the doubt. He may be acting strategic, but I cannot imagine someone with his business experience to essentially be silent on the most significant business transaction before the city at this time.
He may also be confused with the public administration side. He may not feel comfortable in that field of knowledge given he has no public administration experience.
I guess that would explain why MBC had a far superior command of the issues involved with Beechnut than Schneider. It is rare to find a person that has formal credentials in public administration as well as over ten years experience in business administration. I also suspect working for the largest producer of commercial aircraft as well as the second largest defense contractor in world history would teach you a few things about business and management.
If Mr. Schneider would like to expand his base of support, he will probably be better served by speaking or taking active part in public meetings. You do not get anointed to the Mayor's position, there is an election involved right?

Sorry to drift off topic but I just wanted to say that though Overland is starting to move forward, we are doing it by pushing our Admin people, especially the Finance Department, way beyond reason.
If anyone is up for this challenge they are, but that doesn't mean they can't use some encouragement and thank you's.
Also, remember it's "Administration Professionals Day (and Week)" So send you're thank you's and the like to all the hard working Admin folks at Overland's at City Hall, Public Works and the Police Department.

The biggest shock to me at the meeting is that all you get from a person claiming to have a 160 I.Q. Is the word “abstain” I have nothing close to that quotient, but couldn't a yes or no be uttered in their somewhere?

At all of the council meetings that I have attended, they have always voted in the sequence that they are seated. Why was Mr Owensby always jumping in with his vote without giving Ms Keller a chance to state her vote? Did he think she needed to know how to vote?

What is with former Overland Politicos? First we had Karem directing Purzner, now we have Dody hanging out with Boone in Public Works all day.

However, it is my understanding that though Councilman Schneider ran his own business when he lived in Minnesota, he went to work for an Overland company when he moved here.
This is not meant to disparage in anyway, only to clarify.

Sweetpickles, This may come across as spin, however it is the best I can do as I do not want to get into the root cause of this issue. Frankly, I don't feel I can get into it without needlessly disparaging a public works employee (no, not Chuck Boone this time). I will leave it at that as I am confident you know what I am referring to.
First as someone who was there, I didn't take it that she was mad at PPT May at all (or necessarily anyone else in particular). If her passion and frustration was directed at anyone it was Mr. Boone as it was what he had to say that was shortly followed by her getting her ire up. However, I imagine it was directed more at the problem than at Mr. Boone himself.
You're correct, she did say no when I asked if she needed a ride home (I pass her house on the way to mine so it is no bother). She said she needed the walk. Considering she walks everywhere she goes that really didn't strike me as unusual. Also, I know that on the rare occasion that I get riled up, I like to take a walk to wind down (the length of which is generally determined by how riled I am, so if you see me in your neck of the wood SP you know I must have been really PO'ed :-) ).
To keep it simple, she got her ire up over an issue at public works and how the resolution might negatively impact a number of residents (possibly even herself, though I am not at all sure on that). This lady has been through the ringer with them so she definitely understands how other residents feel when dealing with inspections and the like.
I don't blame her for her passion on this issue. And I imagine that there are a lot of people in Overland, who cannot discuss Public Works without getting angry themselves, who would agree.

Seriously, I can understand the confusion for some who where there. At one point PPT May spoke to tell her something like he was sure public works would take care of it. However, she wasn't having any of it and based on her experiences (not to mention the departments reputation of late) I can't say I blame her. So, it that regard someone might take this as being mad at PPT May, when it seemed to me she was aggravated at the situation and PPT May got caught in the crossfire so to speak.

When you sat down on Mark Brown for a chat, did you ask him if he is still using the false identity of Tu Wong Fu in his business dealings?
I called the print shop and asked for Tu Wong Fu but they said he wasn't there which makes me wonder if they meant Mark wasn't there or Tu Wong wasn't there but Mark was. It is tough.

MAN ABOUT TOWN, I understand where the confusion might have come from, but you are mistaken. The Seniors will not only be receiving 25% of their rebates, they will receive the entire rebate.
The 25% was actually referring to how many of the Rebates they expected to get processed before the 2006/2007 budget year ended. The remaining rebates will be still be processed, but they will have to be accounted for the the next budget year as that is when the money will be spent, regardless of what year the rebate is for. This was specifically spoken about at the Workshop meeting at length.
Remember, our City's fiscal year changes in June.

HA I saw the sign on the news not in the yard's until today. I new of May & he is a A$$ HOLE, I through he was in Ward 4. Just got back from Iraq three weeks ago. So I made a MISTAKE BIG DEAL. Was only over there for about two and half weeks before getting wounded.

So If you NOW claim to have been in Vietnam in 1973, how the hell were you in Iraq this past year to get wounded? You were in combat at approximately 55 plus years old in Iraq? You are a fraud. How long did it take you to come up with this Vietnam information? You claim to be in what school? Navel? What belly button school? I believe the correct term would be NAVAL. If you got a DD-214 release form from your service in Vietnam, how did you get wounded in Iraq? You are a fraud. What was your MOS?
