A running history of the fun and folly that will be the Overland city council meetings.

Went to the Council meeting tonight. Another waste of time.

Rughead remains a manchild. A child trapped inside the body of a mental midget of a man.
And Ann well she's holding onto her teeth for dear life. She wants its over but Brown just won't let her alone. She gets absolutely everything she deserves.
I agree sias. It's a downhill slide. She's back to not letting people speak and cutting them off when she does not like what they say. I feel this 1st.amendment thing must of somehow escaped her, she just does not get it.
Did anyone else hear about the flyer Brown sent to all the people running for council letting them know he's in the business of making signs.
Here's the best part, at the bottom apparently is an example of the political sign with a picture of Purzner & underneath her name is the word "governor".
Sorry,
Shouldn't have said all of them.
I talked to one candidate that couldn't quit laughing about the one they rec'd.
There is a brief article at Stltoday.com mentioning the Mayor's intent to seek an appeal on the recent Recall decision.
That case was decided in record time likely because there was not legal basis for the suit. It is unlikely at best that the Mayor will get an appeal heard without some sort of evidence that the Judge mishandled that case.

Possible answers to two questions raised during last night’s council meeting:
1) How can a grant application amount be too big and too small? Too big as it would be too great a percentage of the total amount of money available for all grants. Too small as it would not be enough to complete the project and no additional money was presented as available to complete the project.
2) How were the bids for the tree and brush removal advertised? First you pick up the yellow pages and call one of the largest and most reputable companies in St Louis as ask them to bid. Then you call a “friend” of a friend and tell them how much the first bid is so they can bid less. Is this second bidder bonded or would the city be responsible if they would have an accident during the removable?
My dictionary defines “Libel” as a statement published without just cause, and “Slander” as a false report maliciously uttered. Mr. Oakes in no way “libeled” Mr. Knode as I saw nothing printed. He also could not have “slandered” Mr. Knode by stating information about Mr. Knode’s missed council meetings, as that information is available in the minutes of council meeting available on the Overland city web site.
