This Minnesota Thing
The more I think about this Minnesota thing the more questions I have.
According to the Post-Dispatch's articles of yesterday and today (as well as reported on KMOV-TV), Schneider's attorney is claiming that he paid the taxes in Minnesota.
According to the Post-Dispatch's articles of yesterday and today (as well as reported on KMOV-TV), Schneider's attorney is claiming that he paid the taxes in Minnesota.
Schneider's attorney, Thomas Blumenthal, argued that a Minnesota corporation that Schneider had owned before returning to Missouri had properly paid the taxes.
- When did he pay those taxes?
- Were they paid in Missouri or Minnesota? (I can only think it was Missouri since the lawyer referred to "properly" paying the taxes.)
- Why wasn't a personal property tax receipt provided at the hearing as proof? Because, surely if such was done at the beginning of the proceedings they hearing would have been adjourned.

I don't know why Schneider was not put on the stand to directly address the numerous inconsistencies being disseminated by his attorney.
Sorry Sweaty,
But a Zebra never changes it's stripes.
I assume Schneider would have taken the stand as the defense put on their case. Since the case was dismissed before we got that far, Conlon's atty did not get to ask the questions that I, as well as many others, have pondered.
One thing about the Post article. No way was there 50 people there today. Maybe 25 for the Overland case. There were also criminal matters being addressed, which would have added about 15 more people to the mix.
Fido,
The opinion wasn't even read in court. The judge called all interested attorneys back to his chambers and handed out the ruling.
Later, the clerk or bailiff came out and said the Overland matter was settled (or basically a "you're dismissed").
The fact you're backing Schneider is a enough for me.
Keller wins, Brown/Karam are back.
Schneider winns. Brown/Karem/ good ole boys are back.
If Maryb doesn't win Overland loses.
Do these people have to die or be put in jail for Overland ever to progress?
I updated the prior post with a link to a PDF version of the Order and Judgment.
Schneider still crying dirty tricks on Channel 4 at 5:00 PM. He complained he didn't get a courtesy call with regards to the lawsuit. It is obvious to anyone you were not going to back out of the race, Dody and crew have annointed you the saviour of our City.
Given only five day from the end of filing to when a challenge could be I suspect things were a little hectic just trying to figure what you paid and when.
You should just be glad that the Statute of Limitations for "Making a False Declaration" have run out otherwise you might be getting a visit from the MoSHP. By the way they don't make courtesy calls.
Now go to your buddies Dody, Paul, Dils maybe even Karam and Brown to get their advise. You fir right in with that crew.
I have held off posting for a while, but I couldn't just sit on this one.
"Courtesy call"??!!!!!
Schneider is a 57? year old man....and he needs a call to remind him to pay his taxes? Give me a break! Instead of blaming everyone else, for once take responsibility for your own actions.
And maybe show the people of Overland some "courtesy" and pay your taxes on time.
Channel 4 article on case
I think on Aug.7, right before I go in to vote, I'll give Schneider the courtesy of letting him know I won't be voting for him.
Okay will somebody please call Mike Schneider and remind him to please pay his taxes.
"I'll be the guy wearing the Marine hat." You know Mike, honesty is the best policy.
Schneider, now there is a real businessman with solid management credentials. Sort of like Ken Lay without the money. Ken Lay Light, all the lying with a third less intelligence.
When is Mike going to discuss why he decided to cheat St. Louis County rather than crying about everyone else? When is Mike going to tell us that being a successful businessman equates with being a freeloader?
I would say he has a Napoleon Complex but Napoleon was actually smart and accomplished.
That dude has a lame excuse for everything. I bet he doesn't have the fortitude to face any questions in regard to his shady business dealings.
Semper Fideles Mike, Semper Fideles
Any word from COGG about "Dirty Candidates"? I didn't make the meeting but suspect the COGG is taking a powder on good government and therefore nothing different than any other special interest.
Now it's all falling into place.
Sorry, Keller you're just a token candidate, Schneider has been their 1st choice all along.
It's still a 2 person race.
Mrs. says they were well aware of Overland pol. before they moved back, but Mr. still goes & meets with them. Mrs. is heard to say Mr. can take ward 3 she's sure of it. Now it makes sense. He sits there the entire yr does nothing for either side & the final straw Sweaty is backing him. And just like Purzner instead of apologizing for any wrong doings, blame everyone else & act dumb about it. Perfect
I must say this chess game just keeps getting better & better.
I was pulled over for speeding yesterday and I am outraged that nobody gave me a courtesy call before I was stopped.
Gravy,
Don’t pay the ticket, unless you get a courtesy call from the police department, that your speeding fine is due. If not, call Judge David Lee Vincent III, perhaps he will let you off the hook, if you cough up some sort of lie. Or call Schneider, he might be able to give you some pointers on how to squirrel out of paying the ticket.
You know instead of an audit for the city, maybe Schneider should be audited instead.
I understand Wiggy was upset about selling Brooks Pard 1st, did anyone ask him why, does this park hold some special sentiment for him?
Oh boy….just gandered at the Localite. Peggy Keller’s ad cracked me up about her working in A/P, A/R and Purchasing. Heck can you be any more vague? Almost everybody in Overland has done work in A/P when writing out checks for their bills, and worked in A/R every time they received a check and applied them to our A/P. As for purchasing, we all have worked in purchasing, purchasing groceries, clothes, beer etc etc. Gee Whiz Peggy “160” Keller, that sure sold me on your qualifications to be a Mayor….LOL
And then we have Schneider’s ad that says (in part):
Mike Schneider ~ A Man with
Character, HONESTY, INTEGRITY etc etc etc……yeah…mmmmmmm kaaaaaay
Saw Schneider's ad in the Localite not only does it appear he cheats on his taxes now he is plagerizing MBC's literature almost word for word. No wonder his ad sounded familiar it is as if Conlon wrote it for him.
Why is he trying to pull the wool over everyone in Overlands eyes.? Don't trust him not as far as you can see him.
EMPTY SUIT
say it aint so,
I noticed that too, about Schneider plagiarizing Mary Beth’s ideas. The difference is, Mary Beth has the know how and qualifications to implement these programs and ideas. Schneider is just giving lip service, because he knows Mary Beth’s ideas are excellent and exactly what Overland needs.

If Keller worked A/R, A/P & Purchsing, then why does she not have a clue as to what's going on in the Budget meetings.
Haven't gotten ours yet, did she get everything off her chest on how she's going to improve the city's revenue.
Article in the post metro pg. C4 "Ouster attempt created "wedge,' says candidate
Question: why is he meeting with the assessor's office? According to him only "part of the story" was presented in court?
They were all there, why didn't he tell the whole story that day in court, or to the post in this article?
