Why do the Schneiders hate the Community Fire District and Ritenour Schools?
Was just verifying that Schneider's middle initial was "T" (going to use some play on the words MT/empty), and came across something peculiar. I thought the best place to look this up would be the database from St. Louis County. Upon further inspection of his personal property tax record (you know, the one "paid under protest"), I noticed that the payment only covered his car.
Where are the back taxes on her car?
Is she claiming she didn't live here then, just him?
I mean she really can't claim "didn't know" after her husband was forced to pay. I realize she is not the candidate, but they are one household and legally bound through marriage (including binding in tax laws). It all makes me ask:
Why do the Schneiders hate fire fighters, teachers, public parks, public libraries, school children...? You know, all those institutions supported by property taxes.

Suzy,
You are right, why didn't they have to pay taxes on their yellow Ford Thunder Bird? Did they claim that car was still in Minnesota? He only paid on the Yukon truck. Something is not adding up here. They are listed as Michael & Jerri Schneider on the St. Louis County Revenue site, hence both are liable. Schneider must have “sold” the Collector of Revenue a good story.
I might ad that the T-Bird and Yukon are both listed for the tax year 2007. But the T-Bird is not listed for tax year 2006.
hmmmmmmmmmm....verrrrrry interesting.
Another one that someone else might be able to verify is that though th Yukon was in Mr. Schneider's name the T-Bird was actually in his former company's name.
Perhaps that is why there was not an issue with this as there would be records of a transfer of ownership that may have happened sometime after Jan 01, 2006.
Hopefully someone will be able to confirm this one way or the other.
Schneider's on the ballot, despite what anyone digs up from now on. He will also come up with an explanation as to what happened. If I remember correctly he said the whole story did not come out at trial. Apparently, there's a whole lot more to the story then first thought.
We are not going to hear the whole story as far as I'm concerned, unless it's in the next edition of the Localite.
Oh yeah. The Localite. Not what I would consider a source of breaking news--but love those coupons!
Sailor,
Well, if the Schneider company owned the car, that company would owe the taxes.
I think we have previously talked about the 30-day rule. This hold regardless of title, it has to be registered and taxes must begin to accrue.
Onelayer,
My point wasn't about him being on the ballot. My point was that this family still disregards tax laws. I especially find this disheartening since Schneider already gets tax dollars for his role as council members and will get additional monies if elected mayor. Sigh.
You're right about the company owing the taxes if that is the case. However, that would not effect Mr. Schneider's ability to be on the ballot as originally thought. It seems the reference to corporate officer of a fee office specifically refers for franchises the operate state services. For example, the Motor Vehicle Office on Lackland Road.
Not that it really matters at this point, though it is curious how that situation played out.
Overland can follow the Pied Piper in his Yukon and T-Bird all the way down the river blowing smoke up everyone's tailpipes. He says he is manager then 3 questions down the road he says he represents two unions. Where I come from in the real world Managers don't represent Unions but then again this is Mike Schneider's world a world run by Bob Dody and Frank Munsch two stellar examples of Overland Mayors.
Suzy,
I understood what you were saying and couldn't agree more.
My point was even after being caught, paying in protest, he still got to remain on the ballot. So even if more comes out or that they are still disregarding the laws it doesn't change that. And god knows why or how he's still getting away with all this crap.
ORT,
I wasn't saying the Localite would break the news, I'm waiting for Schneider to put an ad in explaining the rest of the whole story that didn't come out in trial. I won't be holding my breath for that one.
TorC,
I could be wrong but I never heard him mention what unions he supposedly represents. Does anyone know or did they hear him say what ones?
This is off the subject but you might like to read. Today in the post metro pg B3 under St Louis County. Analysis may guide development. They are talking about the unincorporated area also known as West Overland.
One-twolayer,
Schneider claimed to represent #618 an triple 7's (as he put it), so I guess #777. Yeah, this Manager thing and representing unions does not add up right.
As Schneider said "I know nothing but sales"!
As stated in the trial transcript, the ownership of a vehicle is of NO consequence to assigning personal property tax incidence in St. Louis County.
If you use a vehicle and keep the vehicle at your primary residence, you owe personal property tax on said vehicle.
It does not matter to St. Louis County what sort of shell game you use. Therefore, whether the vehicles were registered in his name, company name, wife's name, child's name, my name or the tooth fairy's name for that matter, does not matter.
If Scheider or his wife lived in St. Louis County and used a vehicle, they owe personal property tax on that vehicle.
Tax waiver fairy?
Blue Eyes,
In Schneider's opening statement he did say he came up thru the unions, however later in the debate at (49:11) he said he represents 2 unions. Go back to the Mayoral Debate video on Sailor's site and fast forward the debate to 49:09 minutes and listen for yourself. He said he would like to bring in Target or Cosco that are Union friendly, then he went on to say he REPRESENTS 2 unions. That is where I got the information that Schneider said he represented 2 unions.
I might be wrong on this but for the few years I worked in a Union Job management was not allowed to hold positions within the Union, much less represent them.
Schneider in his first workshop claims to be a service manager the the muscle that gets clients to bay their Bills. (IRONIC).
Later in the Campaign he makes claims leading the public to believe he is the Manager of this Company with some 9million in assests.
The only thing he ran were a bunch of ladies selling Tupperware for him and and he acted as the middle man. Not a bad gig. He was doing the same thing when he lived in Carrolton. Those are the years between his Marine duty and the big move.
Aside from his Serbvice. This man has done nothing in his life but reap the benefits of people who work for him. He lived in Ward 3, married into Ward 4, moved out of
Overland to Minnesota. Tupperware eliminated his position. Back to Overland moved into his deceased inlaws house. Played games with the licensing of his cars.
The only business he knows is using other to make himself look good. Bring him back and you're bring back Dody, Paul, Stuckey, Munsch who begat Brown and Karem. This City is going backwards in time with his election.
He a USER and a Slick high pressure salesman. This City needs changes in Public Works the Police Department and good knows where else. Is Schneider going to make those changes I hardly thing so since his supporters support the ones who are the problems.
Is Keller still in hiding? Did she pull out of the Mayoral race? Maybe she is ashamed of herself for snubbing the League of Women Voters and her constituents. Has anybody had her “trashy” bags slapped on their doors in Ward 3 yet?
She's keeping a low profile for sure. The only way she can withdraw from the race is to petition the Circuit Court to remove herself from the ballot.
That cost moneyi I doubt that it will happen.
I'm proud to say I like courage and truth and standing up for the rules. Needless to say I won't be voting for Mike Schneider.
I believe Keller is also working for Schneider. Green and White Signs? Yea its real evident what is going on. They meaning Dody and Purzner's have something to hide. Don't know what it is but there is something they don't want uncovered. Now I am believing they do need a Forensic Audit especially of the Public Works Permits.
