Ice Cream Social or Political Rally

On Tuesday, the city sponsored a not-very-well-publicized ice cream social. The lack of publicity was evident in that only ONE council person seemed to be aware of the event.
Guess who?
Mikey-mike was well-informed and on-hand with a bunch of his supporters, with the supporters wearing Mikey campaign materials.

This goes beyond to informing the other two candidates for mayor. Even the Mayor Pro-tem, as well as council members from Wards 1, 2, and 3 were not informed of the function.

Shades of Purznerites during the power outages.

The question of the day: Should the city fund such an event or should Schneider pay for this out of campaign funds?

Let me modify my question or suggest an addendum.

Should Schneider "pay under protest" for the Tuesday event?

Ah it's another one of those back room smokey filled Ice Cream Socials again. If it was a city sponsored event he should not have to pay. But that doesn't appear to be the issue here. The issue is why the other 7 were intentionally left out and not informed about the event at all.

Here is what I would like to know who is responsible for organizing the event? Why did they exclude the other 7? Are employees taking sides in this election they aren't suppose to.

Now is the time for Ken to stand up and ask the question one scoop of BS or two?

Schneider's team will do anything to get elected including giving his supporters more whip cream and an extra cherry.

Funny not really. It just goes to show that the Old Boy's way of running things around our city still continues to rule the roost. Exclude, intentionally keep people from knowing what is happenning.

If we want our city to come together then why are they excluding the entire board and not letting people know about the city sponsored events. I'm sure if Jerry May new he would have announced it at the last council meeting he is good at telling people what is going on like Discover Overland and the 4th of July events. I can believe it though they were not told are invited.

I keep on hearing the powers that be the supervisors of the employee's don't want a city administrator either. Sounds like they don't want to be like everybody else and have a boss.

Sweaty,

That's right up there with the next time I see Ann I'll ask her to whip out that diploma out.

Suzy,

I can say not everyone there was for Schneider. I didn't see it but heard it was in the Localite. The part I found amusing was that if it was for the entire city (16 thousand or so) and out of that only a handful showed, how do you run out of icecream by 7?

Sweetpickles,
….hmmmmm are you sure it was a driver’s license you saw or a Missouri non-driver ID? They look pretty much the same. You use to swear up and down Purzner the lying RN had a BS degree from Maryville too. So are you telling the truth now? Did Keller tell you all about her 160 IQ too?

Ice Scream, You Scream, We All Scream For Ice Cream. Wait a minute than ran out in 15 minutes. I want my money back. Wait a minute it's free. Free for the first 20 people then it's all gone. Maybe that's why they didn't remind the rest of the council afraid that more people would come. We can't have that only a select few are worthy of dixie cups.

I just got my localite and lo and behold it is there. I wonder if they considered that if an event is on 7/3 then most folks would not have received theirs by then. It was also on the city website under the MAYOR heading (which most folks are not going to check because we don't have an official mayor, just an acting mayor).
So, it was publicized. Just not well-publicized.

Furthermore, I saw on the city website that there was a council workshop meeting that night. So, I know the ALL council members were free for city business as well as courtin' the constituency.

Hey Schneider,

How about an F'n courtesy call before you start handing-out the ice cream?

The more Schneider campaigns, the less I like about him. Does this guy do anything "on-the-square"?

During the past week, Schneider has been sending Frank Munch to local businesses glad-handing for campaign contributions.

Seriously.

Here is Schneider making these wild claims of business success as a Salesman, yet he doesn't have the stones to walk into an Overland business and ask the proprietor for a campaign contribution? Frank Munch doesn't even live near Overland but Schneider can't face actual working people with his record of cheating.

What is next, is Schneider going to ask Bill Clinton the "ring-the-bell for him"? But how can Schneider shake the hand of those businessmen in Overland that have always paid their taxes/business license fees and then follow it up with a campaign solicitation?

I don't blame Munch for butting-in. It seems completely reasonable that Munch would want a cut of Dody's scam. Think about it, former Mayors can now perform the function of Mayor without facing the electorate. As long as you find a clear patsy as they have in Schneider. Bob and Frank can now spend their retirements pretending to still be Mayor while Schneider hangs at City Hall waiting for instruction.

But isn't it just so beautiful that here we have our two former Mayors, together representing the past thirty years of Overland leadership both backing the most ethically challenged tax cheat running in the election. Those Old Boys are so scared of a woman as Mayor that they will use the same two-bit trick.

Nice job guys.

This Old Boy coalition's candidate in the last Mayoral race recieved the least number of votes out of the three candidate.

When are Keller and Conlon going to strike a deal in order to stick this election so far up Dody/Munch/COGG's bum that we need not hear from them again for some time?

Dammit people, work it out.
