A/P, A/R experience is not apparent

Last night I watched the city council meeting on cable. I was very surprised at the debate over the budget, specifically the misc. items.
From what I understand it was explained to both Keller and Owensby in the workshop meetings that the misc. items are to cover unexpected expenses and/or items where we have unknown costs. A lifelong bookkeeper I know who attended the meeting, told me she just rolled her eyes at the Ward 3 council members lack of savvy over a budget, "Of course you have to pad these types of things as it is better to make allowance for the unexpected than go bankrupt over them."

Now, Keller claims experience in Account Receivable and Accounts Payble. Heck, she's been married 20+ years, right. All of this should be known by someone with that type of work experience and/or has created a household budget.

Keller said she worked in A/R, A/P and Purchasing....she could have dumped trash bins in those departments for all we know. She did not elaborate exactly what she did in those departments. Filing or data entry is my guess. Keller obviously has no concept or knowledge of budgets and the mechanics of simple accounting practices.

Mary Beth is the ONLY candidate with specific qualifications. Keller and Schneider are extremely vague and weak about their qualifications and platform to be mayor.

The following is an excerpt from Mary Beth’s website,
www.marybethconlon.com :

I have lived my entire life in Ward II. I went to Presentation Grade School for all eight years and graduated from Ritenour High School in 1984. I received an Associates Degree from Florissant Valley Community College and graduated with both Deans and Political Science Honors with a Bachelor of Science in Public Policy Administration (BSPPA) from the University of Missouri St. Louis. I have completed several hours of graduate Public Policy work. My interests include: Urban Revitalization and Rehabilitation, Economic and Community Development, Environmental Sustainability and Park Preservation.

Social Organizations I belong to:

Overland Historic Society

I must add that Keller and Schneider can't even come close to the above experience and qualifications Mary Beth has.

Hey Schneider,

How about an F'n courtesy call before you start handing-out the ice cream?

The more Schneider campaigns, the less I like about him. Does this guy do anything "on-the-square"?

During the past week, Schneider has been sending Frank Munch to local businesses glad-handing for campaign contributions.

Seriously.

Here is Schneider making these wild claims of business success as a Salesman, yet he doesn't have the stones to walk into an Overland business and ask the proprietor for a campaign contribution? Frank Munch doesn't even live near Overland but Schneider can't face actual working people with his record of cheating.

What is next, is Schneider going to ask Bill Clinton the "ring-the-bell for him"? But how can Schneider shake the hand of those businessmen in Overland that have always paid their taxes/business license fees and then follow it up with a campaign solicitation?

I don't blame Munch for butting-in. It seems completely reasonable that Munch would want a cut of Dody's scam. Think about it, former Mayors can now perform the function of Mayor without facing the electorate. As long as you find a clear patsy as they have in Schneider. Bob and Frank can now spend their retirements pretending to still be Mayor while Schneider hangs at City Hall waiting for instruction.

But isn't it just so beautiful that here we have our two former Mayors, together representing the past thirty years of Overland leadership both backing the most ethically challenged tax cheat running in the election. Those Old Boys are so scared of a woman as Mayor that they will use the same two-bit trick.

Nice job guys.

This Old Boy coalition's candidate in the last Mayoral race recieved the least number of votes out of the three candidate.

When are Keller and Conlon going to strike a deal in order to stick this election so far up Dody/Munch/COGG's bum that we need not hear from them again for some time?

Dammit people, work it out.

It's time for those who read this board to get on board and help Conlon out. She is going against the corrupt old boy's money machine again. I'm sure she needs help. You got time give her a call she'll put you to work. Someone once told me in a hearsay conversation that the FBI told Munsch to bud out of Overland Politics maybe he needs to be reminded. Or maybe individuals need to run adds against them in the Localite. This city will remain corrupt if Frank Munsch get's back involved.

He is involved. He was going door-to-door shagging money because Schneider doesn't have the guts to face people after acknowledging in court that he filed a false personal property declaration for the purpose of avoiding his property taxes.

It really isn't any wonder why Dody and Munch like the "cut of this man' jib".

Say it ain't so

1) the malleablity of Schneider

2) he's admitted he will actively seek them out for advice (for some reason Schneider thought that was a plus)

Don't forget me I need to think I got power, Phil too. Chuck's our inside man, Schneiders our leader.

Bob wanted to be full time mayor but the Council wouldn't let, this is the next best thing.

Mike don't like meeting the local folks lately since he's been chased off several front porches in his own ward.

Call in the bagman, The Muncsh mobile is on the prowl to be sure.

Sweaty,

First of all, anything you say, I'm not buying.

Second, the person that told me about Keller was the same that told me about Karr, which she confirmed was correct.

Third, Keller I believe, said she worked for the county 9 yrs ago, what a coincidence, I said she got the ticket 9 yrs ago.

Fourth, what are you doing at Overland's fireworks, doesn't Maryland Hgts do something, YOU DO NOT LIVE HERE. DO YOU DO ANYTHING WITH MARYLAND HEIGHTS?

Fifth, who gives a rats ass who you support YOU CAN NOT VOTE HERE, REMEMBER.

I would like to know if anyone heard that when Schneider finally made it to the workshop meeting, did he tell any of the other council members to go get icecream before it was all gone?

Summer time is reunion time and what better way to celebrate then with a reunion of former political hacks who had a knack at applying pressure on business's and people in Overland.

Unfortunately most of the business's in Overland are near broke because these same public servants ran Overland like it was there own Monopoly Game.

Mr. Frank Munsch, former Mayor of Overland, I imagine the handouts you'll be squeezing out will be in cold hard cash because Mr. Munsch doesn't like his fingerprints on anything.

Does he?

If you really need another reason to not vote for Keller heres 2 more. Her main supporters are the Kmodes and the he-she-it

Fish-In-A-Hole if you didn't read your last paragraph it sounds like you could also be talking about our favorite quickie print shop guy.

I'm sure that Munsch has way to much influence in the Schneider Campaign but it make sense, if you look at the people supporting him they are Munsch/Dody loyalist.

This is more of the same old same old. We are never going to get it right in Overland if we keep on allowing external people to influence our elections just like last year.

I really want a Mayor that is not beholden to former Overland politicians.

The case is clear. No need for any other info on the candidates.

Dissidents of Overland Unite!

Conlon and Keller supporters have a unique opportunity to create a tidal wave of votes that would wash the remaining Good Old Boys out onto the street and into that dark night of Overland Politics!

Let the bargaining begin.

Imagine the opportunity, having Dody/Munch/Karam all cornered behind the Munchkinchurian candidate Schneider; and you can send all of them packing in one move.

And you don't take advantage. You pass on taking the shot!

You folks will let that Hall of Shame divide this community just enough to keep a fading grip on political relevance.....one more time.

Drop the Hammer People!

Strike a deal behind Mary Beth Conlon's campaign and deliver the punch you always wanted to take.

What would it take? Make an offer.

Fine wine thanks for your clarifications. You have a good memory. Can you explain what happened with the FBI and Munsch?

7:05 AM
Blogger Unknown said...

SP - Okay let me get this right. Munsch wanted to get involved with Ann's campaign. What was up with that? Doesn't he have a loyalty to the Midland Valley Bunch. If anybody was against Ann it was that bunch. Why would he be two facing them? What is your take?

Okay the FBI Munsch stuff I thought it had to do about something with the construction of the Community Center.

Was there two FBI investigations going on?

Also what did Munsch have to do with Brown and the Herman Tapes regarding squeezing Mark out of the Mayor's race?

Denny Golden?

Munsch backed Dody right?

Odd Fellow's I vaguely rememember them but the name sounds appropriate.

You guys are making it too complicated. Frank is a back for the sex, the old flames and lest we forget, the misogyny.

"Another woman become Mayor of Overland,.....over my cold flaccid body there's not!"

Let's all be happy for the lucky individuals, Frank is back and someone is gonna get laid.
